We had much the same, a few bits of snow, a few drops of rain, some bloody hail storms, at times it was sunny, at times it was almost as dark as night, we also had gusts of force 5 to 6 according to the weather people. It was without doubt the hardest shoot of my entire life!!!!

Les' path and mine crossed for the first time yesterday - it was good to meet him after all. He takes his trap shooting seriously and I spotted him shooting first - a 21 in the worst of the conditions at Southern Counties. DT11 check, castilani vest and hat check, glasses with RedShot blinders check, gloves [white!] check. Must be him. Rolls funny baccy into Rizla papers, laconic outlook on life. Check.

:drag:   Cheers Fred, a pretty good description I guess! Now everyone is going to comment on the bloody gloves I suppose! It was nice to meet you too mate, you looked exactly as I thought you would. Very down to earth, dry sense of humour and very wise! AND a bloody great trap shooter too!!!!

white gloves !

You are a dandy my old mate :)

What's this about cash and trophy, spill.

Well, now you mention it....... :mosking:

Greg I bloody knew this would happen!!!! I have worn golf gloves for many years now and they are most commonly found in white for some reason! I could probably order black ones, but I normally get the things in the sales when they are cheaper, so not much choice!

Listen mate you don't need to justify your taste in posh clothing to us if you want to wear wine waiters gloves that's entirely up to you :)

When I had my last MX8 I made the mistake of using some of that horrible Perazzi grease they give you with the gun. It's a sort of graphite grease by the look of it, anyway I got a bit of it on the gloves I had at the time, what a bloody mess!!! White gloves and dark grey grease do not go well together!  :fie:

Chill out Les. I too wear golf gloves when shooting............................................................just not white ones. :sarcastic:

I know what you mean though. Why do golfists seem to like white gloves? I have tried to find a pair of plain black leather golf gloves for ages but they are very rare.

I've been using a pair of Under Armour all weather gloves for a year but they are wearing out. Haven't found a decent replacement yet.

And before anyone comes back with MacWets...no thanks.

What about marigolds, waterproof good grip and available in a vast array of colours.

Suits you sir.

I tried those MacWet things, didn't like the things and golf gloves are half the price! Here is a pic showing the WHITE gloves!

Footjoy gloves are really nice, but I've not managed to find any that aren't white.

But they're not breathable and they are a bit like wellies for the hands.......so they should be good for the hedge monkeys!
