Smart water is no deterrent either all mine are covered in it with signs on them and signs up at the ground , they ripped two signs down and carried on regardless

We are looking to flood the grounds now with CCTV as now they are powered on their own batteries and send pics to my phone as and when I want them , be interesting to see what's poking around

Does that mean we can't take a wiz in the bushes ........

I have some on order... normal trail cams are fine until the scumbags walk off with them.... these have done their job by that point

CCtv is a good deterrent, but to do so it needs to be visible. For the determined thief all this means is the purchase of a baggy hoodie. The visible cameras need to be the first layer backed up by at least one covert system on a separate secured DVR. If they find the dvr then the cams are useless.

I have found beams triggering warning messages,as much flood lighting and the mega sirens the be an excellent front line.defense system, all thieves have aversion to capture.

There is always NFC or RFID tagging ....

No battery required,   scannable via smatphone and software.  and can be locked for security purposes!

Place several in areas that make disassembly  hard, or render the trap usless

If its the scrap value there after, why dont the trap manufacturers take a leaf out of the highways, and make stuff from honeycomb structures,

Strong and lightweight, but sod all in value due to there being little weight in the casting.

:santa:

Scrap value? When a freaking diesel Peugeot 306 runner is worth only 30_00 quid!  A ,Promatic supersporter is worth 750_00 to a grand as,a, runnng trap what would it be worth as scrap metal?

what about this system, it has been in use for 4 years in south africa, very successful it is too, not detectable by sight, at least it can identify your gear, it is only useful to identify things, not going to stop the theft unfortunately.

When my workshop was broken into the crime prevention copper told me to put post code on prominently with my mig welder and then to paint every thing an undesirable colour. He was more concerned with preventing the crime than catching the toe rags. It might help???
Probably saw too many 'toe-rags' walk away scott free or end up doing Community Service for their crimes. Message to Ground Owners..........please ensure your traps a left in a safe condition, ie:-  switched off and uncocked. Should someone try to steal them and get injured, you will probably be liable for damages when they get their 'no win, no fee' man on the job !

We used to get burgled on a regular basis,  we used to be in the Farm machinery business.  But we stopped it overnight, this was before cctv and the likes were easily obtainable, we got a couple of large Black and Brown testicle adjusters, worked a treat.

Our big lad broke out of the office one night, by jumping head first through a window, to remove the bicep from a scroat who had just robbed the scrapyard next door and thought he would give our yard a try, plod thought it was good, he was proud to bits of the jacket and jumper sleeve and lump of arm he was guarding when we unlocked the next morning..... said scroat was found in a+e bleeding heavily.....

But these these days the scumbags would either poison them or nick them as well...
