Thanks, I shouldn't really go in to it but i guess I can say it was rectifying a historic potentialpublic safety issue in Essex which I assume would have quadrupled their work load (possibly more)

Although frustrated by waiting nearly a year I am very grateful they have done what they did, I have no idea whether it's the same for other forces

I finally had a visit from my FEO for my SGC grant and now I get a few weeks of stalking the postman!

I applied in June, a nine month wait for a 5 minute conversation. The FEO was very friendly and explained the long waiting times are because of a high office staff turnover. With hindsight I probably shouldn't have greeted him with "I thought you were never going to visit!" - I'm sure he hears that too often.

Now to start shopping...

He did say he'd get it put in today and should be through in a week or two, so fingers crossed.

What did you buy?

My FEO said i might get the cert BEFORE xmas if not just after pmsl

For my sins i purchased a Browning B525 Premium Gold 30" Sporter.

Although i've forgotten what she looks like now :(

I fell for that one as well - Took 11 weeks after my visit to get my cert.

On the plus side - off to pick it up today!

At last, I finally had my visit from my local firearms officier today and been given the all clear.... Just have to wait now for the brown envelope to arrive. Its been about 8 months in the waiting!

Now the hunt is on for a suitable lefthanded shotgun.
