pilla prescription shooting specs , I'm told the 540 single vision are best ?  anyone use these  ?

I will have to check as cannot remember whether mine are 540 or 580 but they are very good, limited to one lens colour per set (although  I ave not found that an issue with 22N).

I simply emailed Ed Lyons a copy of my prescription and he told me which frame would be best with my prescription, I had to get the distance between pupil measurent in addition from my optician but it was all done remotely, not cheap but no regrets, approx £550 from memory.

Whatever you do, don’t go with inserts!  They are plastic and crap and when I had them it slightly distorted the vision and they scratch the lens.

I've had both the 580 and the 540. There are subtle difference between the 2. The 580 is a slightly deeper rounded lense with a wider nose bridge. The 540 is a slightly shallower shaped lense with a narrower nose bridge.

I had a set of 580's for a couple of years and got on with them pretty well but found because of the wide nose bridge I would sometimes look over the top of the lense. I then opted for the 540's and they suit me a lot better.

You can have either with as many lenses as you like as they are interchangeable. Ed Lyons will give you a cost for the frames and then a coat per set of lenses, go for the anti glare coating it's worth the extra.

Both are absolutely world class glasses, I've never regretted buying mine, clarity is second to non. I have a set of 44N purple for general use and a set of 76HC for winter, dark and overcast conditions.

Just received a pair of prescription shooting glasses last week and couldn't be happier. Simon even colour matched a specific lens tint for me from an existing pair of sunglasses. Totally bespoke pair of shooting glasses from prescription to tint...and change from £170.00*

A fabulous service from a brilliant individual and I couldn't be happier. It's seriously worth considering before shelling out Pilla money but each to their own.

* I didn't get the anti-glare/scratch resistant coating at the time which is another £40.00, just in case I wanted to alter the tint Simon produced. Something to add on in due course if deemed necessary.

I used to ware Pilla none prescription for quit a few years  and then needed prescription  so then changed to the above and have never regretted not going back to Pilla
