very very interesting ?

what strikes me is the stock length, all over 15" which is at least an inch more than "most" off the peg stocks. Also noticed a very standard 60-40 (ish) poi with one exception of 50-50. None of this high poi we sometimes hear about.

Ips, i was under the impression that most new guns 'off the shelf' were around 15 inches nowadays. All the people in the vid look strappingly tall with long arms anyway, so therefore a long stock is inevitable for them. Not for me thought, appx 14 1/4-3/8 inch is about right for me. with 3/4 in both barrels. As for the 'why did you choose this gun' They are bloody paid to, in one way or another. One has to chuckle.

Beretta always seem to be 14-5" I have always considered anything above 15" to be long even for an orang-utan..

yes your right about the paid (or given) bit, same goes for cartridges ?

The most common things were 32" barrels, low ribs, 3 lbs triggers, small beads and 60/40, nothing out of the ordinary in other words. It does prove though that all guns can be made to work well regardless of make...................as long as the money is right.

Unless they cause you a three minute delay twiddling chokes in front of you at every stand. Then I'm sure it's ok to shoot them.

That's the sort of sweeping and insulting statement that I usually make. ? 

There is of course no doubt that there is an optimal choke for each target, but the analysis of every target to get this right does several things when I try it. Firstly I get distracted with judging distance and edgeyness of the clay (which is what dictates how much choke you actually need) and forget to study it's line and speed, which is the biggest thing for me getting the gun pointing in the right place. Then when I'm actually shooting I'm thinking about the choke and whether the kill will be good. Just a huge distraction for me. The possible small advantage is crushed underfoot by the distraction in my case. I know some people draw strength from choke changing.. but it's certainly not what MOST of the top shots do routinely.

Still changing chokes gives you a chance to see for yourself that at the end it is all down to somewhere between 1/2 and 3/4

It is not a surprise though that the really top shots have better things to think about though and chokes are fixed. Its the target every time... I mean how the hell are they going to be able to read their breaks if they keep fannying around with their chokes all the time :lol:

I see something similar in trap their are some guys shooting guns with ribs anything up to 80mm above the barrels ! Now a high rib can be of benefit to someone with neck/back issues but the really top trap shots never seem to use them.

JJs ribs aren't silly, nice and subtle. Unless he didn't show me a garden fence version. ?
