Gunsite should run scorer courses in how it should be done and not CPSA and give Gunsite Ref badge.

Some grounds I'v shot recently and mentioned in other posts could benefit from attending this.

Top scorers. Including the youngsters.

can't say thats been my experience in the past,not sure some of the younger ones were even watching..scored 4 instead of 8,i didn't have to say a thing as when he announced my score everybody chimed in before i got the chance.

the last time i went they didn't seem to be there though.

unbelievably one scorer today told our group it was upto us if we didn't want to wear glasses because of the rain/misting problem thus creating a rather lively discusion about if she was right or wrong.

this then caused a problem at another stand as a couple of people were adamant they didn't need to as she had said it was thus.

wrong obviously but it just goes to show there is always one!

With so many obviously excellent Referee's on here, I am at a loss to understand how there could possibly be a shortage ???

I personally saw no issues with anyone, some quite long queues as well. It all seemed to go like clockwork. Great bunch here.

Have to agree with Rosso on the scorers / refs at gunsite

We were the last five shooting after the trek from Dorset shooting school

And a gun breakdown that had to be fixed

You usually get the odd moan when this happens as everybody wants to get

Finished and on their way

Never had one ref moan or complain quite the opposite all very polite and professional

Sean's got it bang on at gunsite good refs good targets good facilities getting better each shoot

It was my first trip to Gunsite yesterday, and I was pleasantly surprised to see Sean looking after His ref's . He came round with hot drinks and some hot food. A LOT of ground owners COULD do exactly the same, but they never do. If it wasn't for the reff's we would NOT be shooting.

As for the ground itself, 12 stands there were queues, but with an entry approaching 200 people it's to be expected. Targets were presented making the most of the terrain, everything was hittable bar for the poxy rabbits Grrrrrrr

I did see a number of shooters with their glasses perched on top of their head, and ones with no hearing protection. Personally I would have a quiet word with them and if they refused to comply then tell them to sod off, some ref's do need a bigger set of ba**s.

If only, if only.Some don't even give their female reff's a comfort break 

My one big gripe when your scoring is some ignorant bugger comes up to you and thrust's their card into your face and expects you to take it off them. My usual response to this behaviour .....sod off and wait until I'M ready

Was very busy, but queues were not silly, everything worked Ok for our small group, enjoyed it.

Of course they do, but how many women refs have you seen drop their keck's and go behind a bush.....
