I have a thirty year old pair of shooting specs that are very light very comfortable that I have dug out me gunroom BUT there are a few minor scratches which are visible in certain conditions. Not sure what the material is but man made. Can they be polished out by an optician type bloke. ???

You could always try using "polywatch".

You can buy a tube of it on amazon. It's for polishing scratches out of watch faces made of polycarbonate or resin. It chemically gets into the top layer of plastic.

Its good stuff. And cheap.

I've never seen scratches polished out successfully, if you like the frames is just send them to Mr Lyons and get them re glazed with a good quality new lense.

may do that ed. There old frames probably worthless BUT I have had them so long I am quite attached to them, and there light and comfortable. ?
