I think a lot of new shooters are scared to approach the top shooters like ed and richard and the like, yet if they did they would be surprised how friendly and helpful they are.
What other sport can you think of where you can rub shoulders with the elite at a competition?I think a lot of new shooters are scared to approach the top shooters like ed and richard and the like, yet if they did they would be surprised how friendly and helpful they are.
Excellent stuff - glad it has been useful for you!I am new to the sport, been shooting for about 6 months now. Only a couple of my friends are into shooting so just about everything I know about shooting came from this forum. The information to be found on here is endless. I don't tend to post very much because my knowledge of the sport is little. I log in about 5 times a day, just to see if there's anything new! Since joining the forum I've gone from knowing nothing about shooting, to having lessons, buying my first gun, shooting about once a week and now having the confidence to go out knowing that I'll have a great time no matter how many clays I hit and that most importantly, I'll be safe.
Thanks to everyone
if you want to know how much I like procrastinaton, I'll tell you........tomorrow!I think I may fall into this category! I am usually able to find an answer to any questions I have in previous topics, therefore not had much need to post. I am relatively new to shooting so enjoy reading the board to absorb as much information as possible (I also work behind a PC and love to procrastinate!)
I want to start entering registered shoots and trying different disciplines so am sure there will be some questions coming from me in the near future.

Hello Andy, I commented on your original post, I don't think in a bad way, I just wasn't sure, because it is very rare for an experienced shot to get through that many shells in a year let alone a beginner. What Disciplines where you shooting? I hope you haven't shot yourself into the ground, because I would bet most shooters on here started with 50 sporting at the weekend (sitting on straw bale optional). As a newbie to clay pigeon shooting for little under a year I monitored this forum for a few months until I felt I had something worth contributing, I introduced myself with a posted entitled 42,000 cartridges. I felt this post had some value to newbie’s like me which will and have gone through the same up’s, downs and frustration as I have and occasionally still do with my shooting, the reply’s I had were to say the least mixed with a few pats on the back (thank you) and others asking whether I was serious, bonkers or I had an interesting sense of humor.
It would seem my attempt to interact and become a contributing member of this forum had failed at my first post; therefore in the future I will be keeping my thoughts to myself and go back to monitoring this forum.

Yes, Ed used to be a bit timid about asking me for advice. -_-I think a lot of new shooters are scared to approach the top shooters like ed and richard and the like, yet if they did they would be surprised how friendly and helpful they are.
