I’m loving my new Browning XS Pro (true left hand). Yesterday while shooting I went to remove two spent shells and sliced my thumb on the razor edge of one of the ejectors. Close examination shows just machined and no evidence of any filing to soften the edge.
Is this normal or have i just been unlucky. ?

Both really........
Yes, it is normal, but you were also a tad unlucky. What was the cause of the spent shells not ejecting ? Having used Winchester, Browning and Miroku guns for over 60 years, I am aware of the issue, but still occasionally get caught. Not at a shooting ground though, usually at the cleaning bench (kitchen table). I only remove the ejectors totally, every couple of years. In normal cleaning, I use cotton wool buds sprayed with GT85. I find that sufficient. I then use a gun oil that stays where you apply it.

They do eject without any problem. We manually remove them to drop into bins rather than on the floor.
I’ve just carefully and lightly run a diamond file around the sharp edge and it’s now much safer.
