:fie:  As I've said before there is nothing wrong with a Trabant and a Baikal!    If you want to be remembered amongst the shooters?

Dad has SM 5 which has been in the family since it was first issued to my great grandfather, whenever number plates first came in

My bike is E3 DKM

I always fancied   "M1 KES"   but like Madmatt says, it would be worth vastly more than any car I'm likely to own!!  :sarcastic:

Audi A4 Cabrio Quatro, has a ski hole so long guns are no problem. Also have a Forester for the dog and local shoots, not bad but boot coil be longer, can get s 32" gun in sideways.

Figgy

With regard to boot storage of guns I was given some good advice by David Kostelecky no less when he saw me loading my guns (in cases) lengthways into the boot of my car. He rightly pointed out that if you load guns lengthways and got 'rear ended'  your gun is highly likely to be damaged so always load widthways. I've followed that advice religiously since.

Common sense really but that never was my strong point :)

I have no choice, in fact It's sideways in a leg O'mutton now

Not as flash as some but VW Tiguan 170PS turbo diesel 4x4 with full leather, big wheels, DSG gearbox and satnav and few other toys will push £40K new and return 40+ MPG

But what I would really buy (money no object) is an Audi RS4 Avant. Ultimate stealth ballistic missile :) With essential kit comes in at an eye watering £59K !! You can forget the 40+ mpg though !!

Now where are my lottery numbers?

DT

EDIT; posted same time as Chu
Dsg gearbox turning out to be a nightmare. massively deep pockets when it goes tits up 4k plus. VW  Deelers don't like getting involved with em either leave well alone once out of warranty.

not having a good year with vehicles L200 engine went BANG!!, van has an interesting electrical quirk that is probably going to cost more to fix than the thing cost in the first place. At least my bike will be back on the road this weekend.........just in time for the snow

Just had a new torque converter and gearbox refurbishment on my disco 3 with 160,000 miles on it, by an auto specialist this last week, £2400 plus VAT. But she'a like a new'en now! Money well spent.

Send it down here and I will get the students to fix it.
Are you sure? The clocks have a tendency to go haywire, drives fine but the needles are all over the shop yet behaves if you have the blowers on recycled air at a certain power. Oh, and the driver side headlight throws a hissy fit and tries to auto adjust the beam constantly on setting '0'. The clutch feels very heavy, and is an effort to change gear. Other than that, it's great. :girlcrazy:

Sounds like you've got damp in the connections.

Try this.

Buy some silicon electrolyte grease (Halfords) find the ecu big silver looking box with big wiring connection on it.

Unplug the plug clean the connections carefully, wd40 is good, and fill with the grease, refit.

You can do this with all the wiring plugs you come across.

The connections get something like a laquer on them.

Clutch sounds like its had it. If it bites near the floor it's on its way out.

Hope this helps.

Excellent, I shall do that.

Yes, the bite is barely off the floor. We suspected that the clutch was knackered, but wanted to make sure it wasn't the adjustment first. Done 114k so I suppose it's to be expected.

Thanks again :)

well thats my job for Monday sorted then. Had already decided to change the clutch along with brake discs and pads, thankfully parts are relatively cheap.
