I'm in awe. Last shoot at owls I was in the money, with 20 AA guys there. We all have bad days and I don't mind publishing it when I do. The next shoot is another day..
Your in awe? Easily impressed then!!! I was taking the piss out of you thinking a 74 was ‌'horrid'  for you on a 'bad' day...

I was frustrated with myself today. Less the number of clays, more how far down the order I was. As my mate says, gotta have bad days to make the good days. ?

Nicely done   pointless trying to explain (again) how averages work and how they're actually used to determine classes, been there done that but it seems some people get fixated with others' "class" and scour the net looking for poor scores. If it were me I'd just get my head down and shoot.

An ego busting reality check for marginal AA guys like yourself Will...scores look about bang on for classes!!!
You really really really don't get how averages work do you.   How long did you have to stalk Will to get the opportunity to write something so nasty ?

Hammy, I'm more than aware how averages work and replying to someone's post on a forum is hardly 'scouring the net'!?!?

Stalk Will??? WOW...that was a casual observation!!! Two minutes on cpsa scores, take out Will's comfort shoots, with AA/AAA scores the norm and high gun being 92-96...then look at all the Southdown/Gunsite/Hornsbie/FourCounties

where high gun is 92-99 and out of his comfort zone, his scores are A class..no shame in that, but also no disaster when a 74 creeps into a 'comfort shoot'...

As I said you have trouble grasping how averages work under the current system at any rate. The top whatever percent are classed as AAA, then the top ten percent as AA ............until all slots are filled. Will travels widely and if anything his average will be highly representative of what percentage of shooters he falls into. The reason he ends up in AA is because thousands of others who also enter his easy shoots still manage to miss enough, geddit ? I dropped 2 birds myself because I went through a poor patch but still ended up in AAA by a whisker, not because I'm good but because the rest are even worse, geddit ?

If and when the system gets changed and Will's idea adopted where people are classified on the day on a continual basis then you just might have a point. My personal feeling is that very little will change, I still reckon Will's scores will be close enough to the top guys to suffer the indignity of AA.

If you shoot the majority of your shoots at Horne...you will stay AAA, so long as Will shoots where he shoots, he will stay in AA. ?

Not ONE of my registered scores during last period was shot at Horne  .

Will is lucky enough to have access to quite possibly the most fertile patch of easily navigable land for registered ESP in the world, some of these ground may throw softer targets than others but :

1) that means nothing if you still manage to shoot sub 90 at a so called soft ground and

2) still grappling with the meaning of average I see

Next pointless question please, you're doing a most excellent job with that shovel so far.

I don't get this crusade. I shoot 15 to 17 grounds per period. What else am I supposed to do? Sit on a unicycle while I shoot? ?
Just stop crying when you shoot a more average score and blame the shoot for being 'tough'...

Do you not shoot Horne any more? When did you stop going? Must be Greenfiels/Southdown?? Can't think of any more down that way...
