Had it again today, clown in front in the queue today, opens up his slip, pulls out  his gun unbroken, bends over with the gun pointing straight back towards me and my wife. The air turned blue by me and he was apologetic, but one day that could be to late.

Seen it many times Michael i have had to change my underpants a few times.

Shot the marathon that was the Krieghoff on Saturday.

Shot well to post 137/160 which picked up 5th in Class. Nice payout of £250 and a slab of Pro-ones.

I thought I would have been way out of the money so Happy days.

Each time I go out I learn more about myself and how to improve.

Small steps......

Also shot the Krieghoff Slog Masters on Saturday in a breezy, squally kind of day.   First sporting shoot in a while, shot 118ex160 - so generally happy.

Little bit annoyed with 6 stands of 1 away and 3 stands of 2 away, which would have given me quite a respectable score - concentration at sporting clearly still a challenge. Couldn't buy a straight all day!

Great shoot, good squad, long day - but 160 birds over 18 stands was always going to be a marathon - so I knew what I was in for.

Shot the Krieghoff Masters like a lot of other people. It was only my second major shoot (the first being the British Open at West Mids). Whilst I should be pleased with my score I feel I should have done better. It's really not a sport that mere mortals get good at instantly ?

There was some fantastic shooting on display and it was a great atmosphere. I shot above my CPSA average though so I see that as a bonus.

Even though Mr L doesn't like the A word, you shot above yours so that is good.  I shot below mine but I did have a lot of fun with my squad and I did get some crackers.  Mr L could possibly have been right also when he told me just to do shoot Westfield that day because I did feel it about an hour or so before I finished as I was very soggy and cold and tired.  Who knows what I might have achieved had I been sharper.  ?

I had a really good day at Greenfields 90 birder (one trapper short) with only 2 birds down, GD and Jamie Attwood 3 each  :) , then onto a proper old school charity 60 birder at a place called Pluckley, missed 4 tough Teal and 1 away on a stand with 10 foot high stilts instead of an actual stand which meant I couldn't address properly  , shot a very good 9 on the Pool.

I had forgotten how, ehem, interesting casual shooters gun handling is with their side by sides  :D , ready to duck I was.
I always think that you have had a good day. if you come away from these shoots without a few bits of shot in you

Shot at Widdington yesterday in the mixed weather, fairly short, sharp showers kept passing through which made me really concentrate.  Lovely place to shoot, and great round of targets set by Mr Ponting.

I started a bit poorly by dropping 7 targets on the first four stands but only dropped another 6 after that to finish on 87 which was enough to win A.

Southdown today in the nice sunshine.  Started even worse than yesterday on the sporting layout with 3/8 on the first stand, straighted the next then 3/8 on the next but I recovered to finish on 80.  Improvement continued on the sportrap with an 87, really enjoyed layout four where there were some bigger targets that needed a good gap.

Went over to Kingsley yesterday and put in a respectable (for me) 89. I think it was a soft'ish shoot though to be honest, judging by my score, but having had a break for a few months after dealing with all the difficulties at home, it feels like it's done me good.

Shot the registered at Barbury yesterday. Couldn't have had a better start; cleaned my first stand, dropped one on my second, cleaned third, dropped 2 on the 4th. Then I was back to normal with hit and misses. Had two disaster stands with one being an utter train wreck. Finished on 70ex100. Should be happy with that based on my last post here of hardly hitting anything but I just felt I should've hit 4 or 5 more.

Had a good weekend of it well actually it started Friday with a win at AGL followed by a bit of practice at my club Friday and Saturday.  Had a good Sunday first at Orston where I didn't shoot well overall but enjoyed all stands except one where when I hit the first target bits came towards me which made giving any real effort to the high battue very hard so I started to miss the first one and hit the battue.  Then a sneaky 25 sportrap at I think East Midlands shooting club which is only 5 mins from Kegworth and then  Kegworth which I enjoyed although only got 89/120'so felt I hadn't done well as I could of.

Today was Horne Gatton Bottom and the world and his wife were there.  We arrived before shooting commenced and it took 3 bloody hours.  Concentration wavered waiting, on the top stand in the woods about 40 mins.  Anyhow saw George had a little pep talk and carried on finished on 78/100 which was not my best.  On to Southdown shot the Greater London ESP - didn't see my card at all.  Had literally 5 mins to spare and shot the sportrap was doing fine 18, 21, 23 and then 14 !!!!!!!  Just lost it as I seem to at the end of the sportrap and a long day but got 76/100.  Then Tony counts our cards up for ESP and tells me I got 87.  What he didn't realise is that we hadn't shot stand 4 - a teal of sorts and a crosser.  So now I realise my score is 79 and to beat Alexandra for the GLN ladies title I need to straight the stand of 8.  Tony shot first and dropped 3 so finished on 87.  I go in and they put his score on my card so someone not the ref says "never mind she might shoot the same".  I bite my tongue and start first pair dead, second pair dead, miss the first bird of the third pair and I know I can't beat her, it would mean we were both on 86 and then I dropped the last bird so now Imfinish on 85/100.  Enough to win my class though and bag £100.

Still going from strength to strength, Sian. Good work!

For or me it was three days of eating and drinking in a field at Jamie Oliver's 'Feastival'. Today contained a brief moment of sobriety which saw me pointing at clays at Longridge. Very busy and bumped in to a lot of people which is always nice. However, at the top end I had just short of an hours wait between stands which broke my concentration. As a result I shot 1/8 on stand 11. It's a shame as I know I could have at least got 4/8 if I didn't let myself get annoyed at the wait. All part of the game, especially on nice sunny days.

Finished up on 74/100. Not sure if that was good enough to place in C. Will wait for the results to come out.

I enjoyed Horne today, I've never shot there before. Finished up with 80 which I was happy with.

Just checked the scores...I'd have come 2nd in A.

Bloody BO......?

Nice afternoon at EJ Churchills, was fully expecting to go round on my own today but ended up going round with a couple of people who I know.

Happy to get a personal best of 94, straighted 8 out of 12 stands.  Been struggling on rabbits a bit recently but got them all today.

Nice to have a chat with Rich Moreing and Stewart Keen as well.

Well shot today Dan. You must be chuffed with your PB, but always be happy with a 9 on the front.

Are the full scores posted anywhere? Stew

Thanks, my second 90+ score in the last month or so.

I would imagine they will post them tomorrow morning.

One did drive across to EJC today, lovely ground basked in sun, a very warm it got too. Had a jolly decent all Glos "squad" of Joe Hale, Zea, Willy Hale Stew Keen and this old fossil. We shot, in the sequence of stands 5-12, 2-4 finishing on 1, pre shoot we were given tales of woe due to bright clays, midis, minis, some rapid 70mm and some rabbit clays thrown as loopers, not at all fazed we,  well Joe and Stew more than the rest of us had our good moments, and me more than most a brain fart, learning all the time though :), side highlight of the day being when two other shots thought Z was Amy Easeman, think Z is most probably still smiling about that! Joe 90, two late rabbits then two teal on our last, stand 1 cost him dear, Stew 89, Willy Hale 77, Z a 6 in front,

And it was very well shot Dan, 94 terrific score, I'd still be telling everyone until Christmas if I'd shot that!

Might see some at Barbury on Sunday, sportrap, county championship for us Glos boys

I think I was straight after your squad on stands 5 & 6. I was the chap shooting solo with a navy musto skeet vest and black cap.

Very nice score Dan. I was happy enough with an 81. Dropped 7 on the first 7 stands and 12 on the last 5.

Nice to meet Dean after chatting on here a few times.

I see they changed the shoot time after I made an effort to get there before 2pm.
