Ended up at Four Counties for 1pm today as wasn't feeling 100% and the weather was crap early doors. Seems a lot of people waited on the weather as was pretty packed when I arrived. Cracking start on stand 1 with 2/8 but managed to pull it back and finish on a 74 which is 6 better than my previous best at this my other bogey ground so was actually happy with that especially as still above my current average. I lost a few birds on the early stands down to not seeing them which was just laziness on my part in not changing to brighter lenses. Some of the later stands were tricky with the sun straight in your eyes.

Saw Sian ahead of me in C class with a 79 and Dean Gibbs was still HG on a cracking 96 when I left.

Had a quick go on the pool shoot before I left and managed a 9 but someone had already scored 10+7.

Did this also, with a tatty day of very few straights, but rescued an 89. The new gun is working well, even when I wasn't having the best day.

Simon, that stand 1 and 2 vision thing was bad today. Edge-on orange clays in a dark wood, against intermittent tree background. Many complained, especially the old boys. I took my card back after a look and went back at the end when the light was a bit kinder. Tried two lenses and yellow was only a touch better. Amazed to only drop 1 clay over the two stands, although I could hardly see if I had hit them sometimes. Thankfully young scorers have decent vision. Just stick a brick under the trap and show some face four counties please..

Otherwise a good shoot, if still a bit too edgey for my preference.

I left stand 1 at 4Cs until last as I couldn't see the first target and it wasn't any better when I shot it.  I apparently hit 1 although I think I hit 2, totally stuffed myself in frustration and missed all the effing rabbits as well.  Those two stands in the woods are eye sight tests.  I did ask if a white One might work but they told me they had tried that and people complained about that.  Happy with most of my shooting though.  Went on to Horne and shot 79 which was joint third in C but could have been more.  Stand 3 the girl scoring and one girl waiting with her just talked and laughed through Tony shooting and then continued when I got in the stand - I waited and they stopped and then effing well continued so having lost two second following birds I stopped and asked them to be quiet but of course pissed off couldn't get my act together and missed 2 more.  Bit moany today ?

The scorers at Horne aren't the best but I guess thats what you get for cheaper entries and decent prize money.

I lost another point that honesty today at 4C. Stand 10 the rabbit broke as I pulled the trigger. Scorer calls out pair killed but I said I think that broke itself. Pair again and yep it jumped and I missed it grrr. Still I prefer that than potentially winning something with a target I didnt kill.

As I was over on the Welsh coast this weekend for a few days of festivities I stopped off at South Wales 2000 for 1pm today. As I was quite tired and a tad hungover after two late nights I figured it wasn't worth going 'comp' so just went T/O and figured it was a nice chance to try out some new additions to my routine.

I'm not sure if it was the additions to my routine or that the ground wasn't too testing but I got a PB of 84/100 which I think would have placed me in C class. Very pleased with the score and was very pleased with my actual shooting, just not pleased with being too tight to pay the £5 comp fee!

Shot Churchills yesterday and after a chilly start it warmed up so much I felt too warm. Quite a mix of targets and struggled on a few stands including the drivens on stand 3. If I can’t get drivens early and have to take them directly overhead I struggle so need to work on those. That black R-L rabbit I only managed to hit once. The rest was not too bad and was on for an 83 until I lost the plot on last stand 12 and did not hit the 2nd higher bird once to drop 5 for a 78. One of those head scratchers where it was like I was shooting blanks as not a fast or distant target. Ref said I was behind them but I thought if anything I was in front after increasing my lead.

After looking at the scores this morning it seemed a fairly tough layout so happier with that 78 and 2nd in C class.

Did Four Counties today. Had a two week break, so was glad to feel relaxed and hitting well. Dropped a rabbit on my first stand, then missed three on stand six (nasty overhead sim pair). Last stand was the one on left as you drive in, over the open field. Missed the first looper in front (despite warning my mate not to over do it). So a good 95. Then RF turned up and bloody straighted the shoot!!! Sigh.. He has been shooting there for 30 years I suppose.. well done him.

I had a nice morning at Barrow Heath today, really good round of clays put on my Phil Moss and well done for him for arranging for the bad weather to stay away.

Shot a reasonable 86 after dropping 9 on the first 6 stands, I finished quite strongly but a bit unhappy with some of the stuff I missed.  Timing was ok but concentration wasn't at its highest peak.

Just a shame that ground is 135 miles away from where I live.  I tied the visit in with some coaching with Ed Solomons at Sporting Targets on Saturday where we worked on teal and some bigger driven targets, then drove across to stay at Bury St Edmunds last night.

All said though, great weekends shooting.

Southdown and Horne for me, shooting Horne as the light faded and they packed up behind Tony and I.  Started on the first ESP stands at Southdown droppedn10!  Then went and did sportrap ruining my card on my third layout because I allowed myself to be irritated by ansquad member's behaviour.  Saw lovely Paul Finney and lovely Bisondan while they were waiting to finish off their last layout due to break down and calmed myself before going on.  19, 19, 15 and 22.  Went back to Sporting and redeemed myself a bit finishing on 81.  Horne 78/100.   Unless they move the goal posts I'll be off up to B so it was nice to have three wins today while I still can.

Pictures of the offending behaviour pls or at least a full description.

The co-owner is a moany so and so on a line -  sometimes he walks off but today he decided to make a phone call whilst we were shooting.  My own fault for not just ignoring it but it threw me and I paid the price for that but seeing my lovely lads just before shooting last layout helped me calm down and get on with it.

Nice to see you and Tony today.

Paul shot a cracking 91 to win A on the sporting, I finished up a few behind on 85.

Felt like I was nearer 65 though, I was at my inconsistent best today.  First stand I hit the first 2 pairs, completely missed the 3rd pair, then got the 4th.  That sort of thing continued for 2/3rds of the course, then I finished strongly so not all bad.

I thought the sportrap and sporting layouts were really good today, looking forward to going back on the 11th of next month for more.

Good shooting both of you.  I thought the courses were good as well.  See you soon.

I shot southdown today first registered shoot for me, it was probably a bad idea to do it today since I haven't shot for over 2 months. ( 8 month old babies have that effect)

shot pretty badly got 63 in sporting but I submitted the score card nonetheless all goes towards getting a classification I wanna starting competing next year..... so watch out, i'll be fighting you lot for last place

Whilst watching the squad in front of me shoot the Pool Shoot, (a serious competition in itself) the guy on peg 2 answers his phone and has a conversation as the others try to build their scores. After hanging up, he's amazed to find himself missing the next four targets..............what a **** End!

I submitted the score card nonetheless
Always hand your card in, as there's a fair chance you'll receive a telling off from the CPSA.

You should receive a telling off from the Cpsa. But you prob won't. Depends which ground you don't hand in your card at and a lot depends on if your face fits ....or not .

Just saying.

According to rules repeat offenders should receive a ban . ???

oh I will don't worry. at the end of the day its cheating if I don't, and most of all i'll be cheating myself by giving unrealistic scores/class

Can nobody reel him in then  ??
