As I am not far from you I assume Southdown is not one of them. And none of those 17 have a registered shoot on this weekend?
William likes to shoot during the week as well as pick and choose if he shoots at the weekend, weather permitting of course.  I am also lucky with regards to access to many grounds but would have more choice than William as I will travel further and weather doesn't enter the equation.

Hi

Southdown has registered sporting and Compak this Sunday

Good shoot at Royal Berkshire today but the rain and wind was a bit much for August.  Drenched and really hard to see at times.  Looking up to shoot a driven and a blinking rain drop plops into my shooting eye.  Rain stings.

Just got back from EJC. Was very last card and took a while to get around due to all the old boys out shooting sxs and late night shooting kicking in. Started off well enough. Managed to hit a couple each of the long R-L on 6 and the flippy L-R battue on 7. Dropped 8 on the last 3 I shot (not in order) to finish on 82 which was dissapointing after shooting the first 2/3rds so well but is not too bad after looking at the scoreboard.

I did the opposite to you and only dropped 2 targets on my last 4 stands. Didn't hit the long crosser on 6 but managed 2 of the battue. The sim pair on Stand 9 was my worst - dropped 5 on that but hit the last pair with one cartridge. Finished on 75.

Two bad EJC scores on the trot for me   but great targets, even better than last time, quite  a few tough stands but no complaints. I just wish I hadn't had so many 4's and 5's   didn't hit any of those green L to R off the platform !

Also went to EJC, been here a number of times with varied "success" did think today there were far too many targets were exposed to and affected by the gusty wind, to my mind, and with it being a comp for smaller gauges also that sone of these could have been re-set differently, it was painful watching some of the sxs boys trying to hit some of the targets thrown, and a look at the sxs event master scorecards on most stands was quite a shock. All of our merry band lost targets to wind affected birds, yes it was the same for all, my point being is that the conditions were forecast, duly arrived and as can be expected took the gloss of a few stands, our merry gang in order old codger 72, Will Hale 68, Zea Hale 68, Joe Hale 84, Stew Keen 82 and Stuart Ivey 74, Cheryl Hall & Dean Gibbs 93 when we left, roll on the next one.

I missed the first three, moved my foot position further around to the left and hit the last two by taking them earlier.

I knew they would be dipping low if not taken quickly but they were so fast that shooting them earlier wasn't easy either. I am fairly sure I was giving them too much forward allowance.

I missed the first one as underled thinking it was quick but not that far away. Then gave more lead and nailed the rest.

I missed the slow crosser first two times then realised it needed more lead even though it appeared to be stalling.

Lovely to see you all today at EJC.  Good shoot and yes a few affected by the wind and so glad it didn't rain like yesterday at RBSS.  I missed  3 of those green ones on the platform.

You would be surprised as to how far out that target was and him much lead it needed with its speed, I saw 5-foot.

If we're talking about the green one I would bet well inside 40 yards, I tend to see more lead the faster the bird but have to say despite starting with a fast swing and trying between 3-5 I couldn't touch it. My friend who shoots in A class pulverised his 3rd and final bird and reckoned he saw less than two foot.
