If we're talking about the green one I would bet well inside 40 yards, I tend to see more lead the faster the bird but have to say despite starting with a fast swing and trying between 3-5 I couldn't touch it. My friend who shoots in A class pulverised his 3rd and final bird and reckoned he saw less than two foot.
Green one couldnt have been that far away as was inside that back mound. Was definetly substantially more lead required than I thought but we all see lead in different ways.

I sat there watching 4 blokes shoot pink simo pairs on that stand only to step and be told the registered targets were the green crosser and white looper.

That's very kind Rich, but I'm afraid it was a very average (for me) 63, and good job Mr J Hale hasn't seen you condemning me to a life sentence there; think he'd have a heart attack! ?
Oh typo ?? that or im a fortune teller ?

Southdown today in lovely sunny weather, not too warm. Just did the ESP (Compak was on too).  A couple of terrible stupid misses, then lost another 8 due to lack of talent. Not unhappy. Shame about the M25 coming home..

Was tempted by Southdown but when I realised it was Pride weekend and the A27 would be horrendous I gave up on the idea.

Podimore, Shot 84 win C very happy as HG was 90

Hope this is a turn in the right direction again!
Think it was a county champ shoot? Do you pick up a class trophy also? that aside well shot?

I did alright at Southdown today; 94 on compak and 90 on sporting.
Dan as ive told you before any and i mean any 90 score in ESP is a much better score than "alright" ?

Quite a stiff reg at Greenfields, missed 5 on the first stand of orange/pink fast going aways which hardly anyone seemed to be able to shoot well, picked it up a bit and ended up on 84 which could have been a lot worse, 87 (A class) was leading as I left.

Southdown for me. Shot the Compak early then had a massive breakfast which was a big mistake then shot the Sporting extremely poorly, just couldn't get my act together today. Long journey home as diverted off the A24 at Newdigate as they closed the A24 at that point.  3 hrs to get home.

Shooting poorly at sporting is caused by mushroom deficiency

Somerset championship so being Dorset just cash and it would only be the overall winner that would get a trophy usually.

Longridge on Sunday but after a terrible nights sleep I wasn't able to switch on and left lucky to scrape a 72.

The highlight was certainly the sun coming out and shooting the round with Matt Turk who had a stormer until the last stand ?

Barbury Challenge today. Phew.. scores pretty low.

I started on their pool shoot. 12 birds from three traps.

A bird was a fully edge on 60-70 yard fast crosser / away from left side.

B bird a teal going away. The trap was about 40 yards out, so 60-70 yards kill point.

C bird was thankfully a fairly tame 20 yard looper.

7/12 was my score and wasn't that bad. The rest of my squad only hit the C bird, scoring 4.

The main event.. 100 bird sporting. I shot it in a squad of four. The first few stands were very close fiddly targets, then it all became somewhat longer. A few good stands but mostly distant edgey targets. To me it had the feel of some groundsmen setting up a larf of a clay display and no real thought for it being a decent competition course. About stand 8 I finally straighted a 5 pair stand and I kid you not, the red arrows (or something very similar) flew over just as I finished. We did laugh.. that was the only the time we laughed. I did shoot two stands more badly than I should, but my 76 would only have been 80, 82 on a good day.

You can view it as a bit of fun I suppose, but I saw some upside down smiles on faces.. I think Barbury forgot to entertain the crowd..

Shot it yesterday, I quite enjoyed it apart from an orange battue/chondel whatever it was that I couldn't see so well against the bloody clouds and sky and didn't get at all.  71 for me and I missed a few doozies.
