Starting back up what gun !?

Hello after 6 years off I’m looking at getting back into it. Currently got a browning s3 725 and looking at getting a new/second hand gun. Max price is about 3 grand. Mostly using for sporting clays. Looking forward to hear from you !!

how about a used Beretta 694 if you fancy going across to the other side, I have a 692 which I'm very pleased with, the 694 is supposed to be an improved version

Shoot what you have get a feel for it again and if something takes your fancy along the line then make a purchase

Browning Ultra XS pro, Beretta 694, Miroku MK38, Guerini Invictus. All great guns and as already said it’s what feels right and ideally try before you buy.

As an owner of several guns () I will suggest finding one gun only that fits very well, makes you smile when you open the case and that does the job on what you shoot at. Shooting one gun only is likely better for your (rate of) improvement and as you will shoot one gun better than the other, the 'lesser' gun will become a safe-queen in a hurry.

Krieghoff Model 32 started doubling at a shoot one time. Needed the back-up to finish. Had it repaired and it has never happened since.

It's either that or possibly have to use a gun belonging to someone else that may not fit you.

Your choice, but I vote for the back-up.

I am currently shooting a gun I bought from someone who was packing up shooting. I knew the history of it, because I had taken the owner to buy it in 1992. A Classic Doubles 30" Trap gun, with 2 sets of woodwork, Trap and Sporting. I paid under £600 for the gun and 360 cartridges. It is not steel proofed, has ported barrels, BUT, weighs 8lbs. Almost 1lbs lighter than my ProSport. I have put an unfinished Isis recoil pad and an Isis comb raiser on it, and I am shooting it exceptionally well. This is entirely due to lighter weight and gunfit. OK so it is over 30 years old and with the temporary bits stuck on, looks like a 'Blue Peter' project, but my scores have gone up and STAYED up, since I started using it.
Cost of the gun is irrelevant, it is the fit and how it suits YOU that matters.

I did that with my Isis pad. It felt so comfortable being wider, I too left it whole. Also, I didn't lose any points in comps...for looks.

Thumbs up for dodgy looking Isis pads - probably saved my shooting career
