Thanks very much CleverSC3 i was worried i would have 1000 Cartridges i couldnt use, now if i could only hit the little round flying things with them!

Skeetuk, why would you use steel shot on a 20yd crosser on skeet but prefer to use lead shot on a 20yd crosser on a sporting course?

Just a little thought on reverse engineering.

If soft iron ( steel) is such a good thing to use in our guns and will not cause too much damage. Why do we have to litter the countryside with none biodegradable plastic wads? What improvements to the environment and to soil technology does plastic give.

If soft iron really is such a wonderful gift why indeed do we not use it on close stuff?

Well. I use Steel for skeet because that is what I do, as outlined in a previous post.

I don't normally take steel with me to sporting shoots, but...if I had some 9's on me for the target you suggested, I would probably use them.

Normally I would just use a lead 9.

I have taken steel 9's deliberately to a Sporting shoot, because I knew about a particular target, on occasion.

Not all sporting shoots allow the use of steel either, so that is part of the reason.

So in summary, I would perhaps shoot steel at a 20 yrd sporting target....if I had it with me. :)
