not everyone considers there gun to be a tool. Some of us appreciate the finer things in life and enjoy owning something we can be proud to get out of the slip.

ps

I will be unslipping my DT10eell in the morning to shoot DTL at bywel classic. Feckin orrible journey up today 3-1/2 hrs usually but got stuck on M6 due to an accident and didn't move an inch for nearly two hours. Sorry i digress rant over ?

pps

what "tool" do you shoot with Jan. ??

is it some cheap cacky thing ??

I shoot a K80 and have for many years but only because I think it's the best tool for the job. If a gun a tenth of the price performed better I'd use that.

I get that shooters want nice things and if fancy wood's your thing then go for it. Don't lose sight of what the guns for though. It's there to break clays and whether the action's attached to a grade 5 piece of walnut or a grade 1 lump of beech it doesn't really matter.

I was right then..... A cacky thing ?

only joking please note smiley thing ?

I can't connect with this "only a tool" thing - each to their own I suppose

I guess you can take that kind of rigidly functional approach to other aspects of life but I personally would find that greyed out many of life's more interesting facets - maybe it's just me but I'll retain my significantly more than merely functional cars, watches, wine and guns

Each to their own, and Jan is of course welcome to his opinion. But I'm also in the "nice things" to own camp. Although my spending tends to go to nicer than necessary cars and watches. The CG's are nice, but not exactly high end, price wise.

I would shoot a gun with the woodwork made from a second hand palette if I shot well with it. It's nice to have fab wood, but it sure will not make you shoot better. Just my opinion, others may think differently.
