Subsonic?

Dam' right there Wonko. Same goes for women, guns, cars, boats, dogs, and the list goes on. Sadly I rarely get it right, except for MrsP.

I train my lad with Hull subsonic 20 gauge shells, out to 30-40 yards they are no different what so ever to normal shells, no difference in lead or sight picture needed, beyond 40 yards they start to get a little sketchy, but they aren't designed for 50 - 60 yard edge on crossers. Their primary market is the training and corporate/ have a go market in which case they are perfectly good enough and kill very well.

Like i have said, every one has an opinion. Fair enough.

Excerpt : The sub-sonic ammo is nice for training for skeet, but they will cause some lead readjustment for longer ranges.

There is always a difference between numbers on paper and practical reality, the answer is get a slab or two of 1000 fps trainer loads and see whether they perform the same, if they do then keep shooting them, lower noise lower recoil why wouldn't you.

Tried these today in the drizzle. I took a box of them into the woods with a box of Pro Ones in order to compare.



These Super Soft things are definitely Soft, but for me they're definitely not Super. I shall not be purchasing any more.

After a trial that failed to impress the other four shooters I couldn't give them away.

I am aware that it might be my fault; I know they may be only very slightly penalise me for insufficient lead, or it may me "all between the ears" or it might be the influence of Ley Lines or Brexit or Global Warming or Donald Trump.  But for me they don't work at all well and it's £5.80 I won't see again.

Oddly I can find no reference to this cartridge on the web. It would be most interesting to find a stated muzzle velocity or even test results or reviews.

At least I tried.

Is their totally variable,may or may not happen,may or may not be registered and may well be cancelled at the last moment 100 birder looking as if it may happen tomorrow? or should i have known to book a month in advance to give them an idea how many may turn up?

Schmokinn I shall abandon my obviously pathetic attempt to preserve the anonymity of the outfit in question!

This morning at 9.15 when I signed in they had seven people down on their list when the young lady enquired as to my intentions. She didn't ask again when I signed out and paid for the morning. By then the claggy clay footing up in the slip-slidey woods had pretty much made my mind up, so I will sadly not be attending.

Having said that there are definite improvements - gun racks and seating are appearing and much-needed improvements to the paths are underway. I have high hopes.
