Interesting story in the Telegraph yesterday outlining that the MoD lost more than £500,00 of equipment in the last year to theft.

Now, I completely understand that any large organisation will lose stuff to theft, but the scale here amazes me on two levels.
1. We're supposed to trust these guys with the keys to the front door? Either soldiers can't guard, or can't be trusted - or civilian staff are helping themselves.
2. Some of the stuff lost/nicked is astonishing - I mean, what would the MoD be doing with £32,000 of Clay Pigeon traps on its books? Or an Xbox360?
Never mind, the tax payer will pick up the bills!
