The rabbit stand, the sim pair from the right and stand 6 (furthest stand away) were classic Steve Lovatt targets, big left to right rabbit followed by a close left to right, managed to straight this one!! High sim pair from right, missed 2 of the left bird as you looked at them, figured I was behind and yep, was behind, hit the rest, now stand 6, the first target totally caught me out and I am convinced I was in front of it, the high left to right quartering bird! Hit all the loopers. Even the stand with the left to right orange battue and high left to right midi was a great stand, in fact I can't think of 1 bad stand (target wise), which is very unusual in sporting...

Couldn't wait to shoot Weston today, not shot it in some time and it didn't disappoint. A great round of targets and plenty variation, only dropped a few sloppy targets here and there - 2 over head targets missed though - strange ??? Plenty of targets that needed respect, merely for the fact that they were easy to over lead if you hadn't read it properly. Bring on next week! :spiteful:

thanks everyone for coming today

First time here for me and have to say I enjoyed it very mutch. I struggled on the same stand as above, I am usually good at loopers and long crossers but the simo pair gave me a big fat zero but the rabbits also got the better of me today.

Did a 59 which is a bit below my average, nearly straighted two stands bar 1 that I broke in my mind before it broke in reality and so missed.

Looking forward to westfield tomorrow.

Very tricky today, shot about my average so not a complete disaster 69/100 but did manage to shoot a pheasant on stand 1 which is worth at least another 10 on my score!!!! Sorry Steve, just didn't see him, too focused on the clay. Stand 4 caught me out as well, 1/7 but went back on for another pair tripling my lead and killed them dead centre.

Looking forward to the next one.

Jane

Managed 45/100 so getting closer to that halfway mark. I blanked the Simo pair right to left just never caught them up. Had a few stands where I surprised myself and a lot with unsurprising low marks. Only two stands where I questioned why I torture myself but that soon passed. I will beat Westonwood into submission one day :)

How rude of me - lovely to see so many from here around the grounds, great to meet you at last Macc Ladd.

Keep going Sian...!

It will come together. It was a lovely day as well.
It was lovely although my feet were freezing. I want to run before I can walk, still got a long way to go though. Did go on to Horne Gatton Bottom and managed a 52/100.

Sian... Was I following you around near the rabbits and the sim pair stands? I think you were shooting with a taller man?

Sian if you do run you won't get cold feet ,,,,

I watched you at longridge on the pool Boxing Day and yet again I saw you hit those really long targets and hit them well , as said before stare at the clay push the gun out with confidence , you might be surprised , that simo pair today were tricky and some awkward bugger put a tree just where you would normally pull the trigger !!!

That sounds dodgy - yes if you were with Madmatt (have I spelt that right) then yes - I smiled at you. The taller man is Tony my husband.

Wish the ref had watched me as closely he knocked me for one precious kill! I know I must trust myself more. when I am pretending to be Mark Marshall I do really well - weird I know.

great to meet you and tony today!! You have even got me urging you on for that 50+ Sian!! Also met JKC today, it was like playing golf again! "2 birdies in one day" keep at it, it'll fall into place one of these days! Did tony manage his 80??

No he did not, really the way he was shooting today on some stands he was lucky to get 76 (not my opinion, his). Westonwood is his nemesis for some reason.

Yes he was was with me hahaha that was a very tricky stand, shame on you Steve!!

What did you think of the white clay off of the high stand at Gatton Bottom, more of a test of eyesight than shooting ability. Bit naughty I thought..
