1/4 bottom 3/4 top . I think I’ll be leaving it as it is , even though I’d like to take the top out to 5/8 or a 1/2 . I think there will be more future value un -butchered
I've been mulling over mine for some time as I want to open up my top barrel and I have had similar thoughts until I read the following from the current Miroku catalogue which advised that the barrel has been designed to allow personal adjustments. As soon as I can find time to visit the gunsmith I will have mine opened up to 1/4 and 1/2.1/4 bottom 3/4 top . I think I’ll be leaving it as it is , even though I’d like to take the top out to 5/8 or a 1/2 . I think there will be more future value un -butchered
That’s what I told myself.....Stop it
I will buy one gun, look after it and make it last, like a good boy
there’s a back edition range bag in my eBay watch list! That’s what I told myself.....
Everybody needs a semi, apparently.....
The 690 Black edition has matching gun slip and range bag......just saying....
I have both the slip and the range bag. Excellent quality and not badly priced at all. My mate has a 690 black and I really like it.there’s a back edition range bag in my eBay watch list!
I think you’ve got me weighed up tbh, the whole black thing actually came about because I’d originally picked out an A400 Xcel black edition (not keen on the blue anodising) but decided against one as a first gun, I thought it would be nice if/when I got one it matched the o/u

Collected the above and used them on the drive back to work. First impressions - you get some brightness, as from yellow lenses, but it is tempered by the brown tint. Quite a nice combination and I'm sure they will get a lot of use.Well I actually did it, I turned up at the opticians and asked to see a sample UltraDrive lense, tried it in the high street and found it quite pleasant so I went for it with my 50% off voucher, now I should end up with a pair of tinted prescription shooting glasses for around £60
The UltraDrive colour is a gentle brown/yellow, not as dark as sun glasses. Obviously they can be used for driving too, but not at night. The sales chap said that the colour tint was designed to increase contrast which is just what we need, now I can't wait to get my hands on them in a week's time.
The normal UltraDrive lens price is glasses + £30
Me too Phil, 410 pump on my listMy pal phoned this morning to see if I fancied a drive round the perms to see what is about if anything and he brought a little .410 single barrel he picked up yesterday which he is going to have a hushpower fitted. I seriously enjoyed blasting away at a few tins, I want one now.
Phil
I want powder and shot whilst there, will whats app you a week or so beforeI was told that my RFD has a Mosberg pump with hushpower in stock, possibly s/h so I will be going for a look tomorrow. I also want to have a chat with 'Clay and Game' at the show to see what they have for reloading .410 shells, ideally subs.

Wait till you try a 16g...Went to play with my new 20 bore . I’m going to shoot it for a month or two before I think about any fitting . For comparison I shot 2 boxes of 24 gm CT target load 8s , a box of 21 gm CT Target loads 8 , and at the end , a couple of handfuls of Hull High Pheasant 6 .
I’ve a couple of lessons to learn 1) auto safeties must be shoved to the firing position after every reload
2) slow down , it doesn’t need the shove that my Mk38 Trap does .
With 30gm of High Pheasant#6 on a R to L , tower bird about 25 yards out, and 25 yards up , the 1/4 kills were brilliant , the 3/4 astonishing .
On the practice layout today, even with the 21gms my eyes were opened . I think I’m going to be a 20 bore zealot from now on
