I wish mine was a mid life crisis then it would have been an Audi S7 or  BMW M5 or similar.

Family demands i'm afraid, and a lot more trundle then whizz !

Would take a caravelle over either of those cars 10 times out of 10. I'm 43 but would have taken that choice since my 20's. :)

Had some tuition today. My shooting was appalling but I didn’t really enjoy it any less than when I shoot well. I love this sport :)

Went to EJC  late afternoon for the icecream. I had two.  Watched the shoot offs and awards ceremony and generally had a natter with friends.  Have to say EJC do host very well and a good variety of food.

Finished 4 very long, hot and mentally tiring days reffing the world fitasc at Churchill’s.

I had the wonderful opportunity to see some truly awesome shooting from across all spectrum of classes, from the D class shooter who has the day when all comes together, to, A class shooters who couldn’t hit a bulls arse in a corridor type of day.

I met some wonderful people from all over the world, and I have to say, that to a man the Americans are the politest and most appreciative of us referees being out in the field, each and every one shook my hand and thanked me, it’s a shame that one top British shooter, who shot a 25 straight on my layout (Blaser) simply picked his bags up after signing for his score, turned his back and walked away.

Southdown: where was everyone? I can't remember queuing once

did the pool shoot, it was a new layout at the north end - in order to avoid the afternoon sun.

Shot the sporting layout - badly, I'm definitely on a downward spiral. Pigeon shooting on Saturday didn't help, still knackered on Sunday

Shooters spread thinly.. I think there were 5 shoots I could have done on Sunday. And absolutely nothing last week. Busses..

I too shot Southdown, very quiet although a few of the overseas shooters had made their way there.  I am shooting sportrap really badly for the last three shoots I have done, I think I am too tired at the moment to give it the concentration it deserves.  Anyhow pool shoot as well for me and then the sporting.

I think our paths crossed on the sporting as you were walking down the lane to the first stand I was walking back up with a friend

Possibly, I would have been moaning about the humidity.  I found it very close yesterday, with some relief found in the shade and when a breeze would blow.  I seriously wished I had worn shorts instead of jeans.  Although at one point I thought we may get some rain as a big grey cloud came over but then disappeared.

Out of the door at 04:30 this morning .  Back home around 2:30pm . 400 mile round trip from up’t’North to Teague Precision* and back with a few stops thrown in for good measure  .  The early start put me into the M5 services having breakfast , rather than sitting on the M42 in rush hour . Teague’s put the kettle on , 20 gauge barrels measured up and instructions left for thin-wall conversion  . Lovely people to deal with .

* As a tank of diesel is +\- the same price as the cost of  sending it via Parcel Force , plus an RFD handling fee , and (as a non working senior loafer ) I’d now’t  better to do , I thought I’d drive the gun down .
