bear with me , what actually happened at the English esp ?    I understand  some were disgruntled  with the shoot off scenario  ,

I think there were a good many disgruntled shooters.

Does our National Association not know how to respect their members?

Nothing wrong with the English.

George was clearly unhappy with the super final targets.

Same as the worlds and correctly so.

No point having a spectator based final where the competitors can't hit the targets.

And possibly the addition of a super final to an event that has always been first past the post, without most competitiors knowing about it...

Being a newbie in the clay shooting world, it seems to me that the majority of stories I read about the CPSA are about f##k up's and poor attitude to its members.

shame really.

Tanya Faulds was on FB highlighting that a Class winner  was not permitted to take the podium for a picture as the rest of the placed shooters were not there.

I wonder how many competitors travelled the length and breadth of the Country on Sunday , only to be snubbed and disappointed .

How long does it take to make a presentation and photograph a well deserving Winner on a podium?

How long and what cost to travel from Wales to Norfolk for nothing?

How long will it take for someone to have a bit of civility and humility?

if you win anything at a major shoot you deserve the recognition of your achievements no matter what.

Not just at a major, standards are high every sunday im out.

Steve Lovatt was asking what makes a silly target, it sounds like these fitted the description ?

Haha, it does make me chuckle, there is always someone (no matter how good/bad) that is disgruntled with these shoots.

As for the shooter not being able to take their place on the podium, that is an absolute disgrace.

Super finals, mmm there's a thing, they came about this year due to people moaning about the differing weather conditions on different days.

Lets wait til the British this year see how many of the lower ranks(A,B,C) turn up for them on the Sunday, what the f**ks that all about.

Just to say I did not attend this shoot so cannot comment on the actual shoot itself, and wont be at the British either this year.

Nowt wrong with the English a very fair round of clays something for all the classes

no queing the round seemed to run like clockwork

can't comment on the shoot off targets as we had a five hour drive home and

decided to get on the road

heard they were tough in the final but were they not fair for everyone ? Did cpsa set the targets ? No

Turbo has Been on fire lately that's four shoots he's won on the trot that I know of

don't think it would have matterd too much who was up against him

Super finals are a great idea and the one at the British will be much better wait has been created to take into account weather conditions, by allowing the top people from each day to go through. The English was just the top 6 scores so weather was just as big a part as if it was straight past the post.

didnt see the targets as wasn't there, but I'd prefer them to be harder rather than easier as it gives people a chance to claw targets back.

the gripe I have is not telling most people there was a super final until many had shot. We know what the format is for the British and it will be a dado are improvement and add a bit of a climax to these shoots that has been missing for years.

Worth a listen what GD has to say, don't think he has any sour grapes syndrome. It sounds very much like the shoot off targets were set on the silly side, that is not separating the men from the boys but bringing a tad too much luck into it.

I was not there obviously !     GD has a point tho`, certainly up the game for a shoot off, but not to the point of ridiculous !

AND,,,,, a question for the knowledgeable shooters, was it not the norm to have a super six shoot off in ESP, a few years ago?mainly in the big competitions ?

I remember esp in SA was like that, still is in national comp`,,,  when was it dropped here ?

Super final was only ever the world sporting and british. Got dropped from british a few years back.

it is a great format if used correctly- ie qualifiers from each day to even out weather, and also make sure you advertise that there IS one!
