Shot longridge at the weekend, the first time in many, many months and as it was a right miserable day windy, cold etc, etc I went birds only. Bugger me if I didn't shoot my sock's off and post an 82 which was some 5 clear in B class. Lord knows how I did it ( combination of full moon, high tide, winter solstice pick any one) now I feel a right pratt for going birds only.

Any else done this ???

no always go comp always have.

well done though

I go comp although no chance on most shoots.  Wished I'd gone in class instead of ladies a few Gunsites ago because I was 6 clays ahead of my class.  Shared Ladies with Nicky G instead.

I always shoot comp , not a cat in hells chance of winning ,  I have scraped into a class  so even less chance now ! :baby:

A friend did it two weeks ago and missed out on ladies high gun.

Brother did it last Autumn and won Sussex DR. Got the trophy minus the cash.

Bonkers..........the lot of ya :afro:

Sometimes you relax more if you are not in the comp and you just shoot it, when your  in the comp you will try harder and sometimes this can cost you a bird or two......just my view from my own experience !

You tight arse !!!!!! It's a competition , go for it
Of course why reduce the prize money ! and may reduce future entries.

This is my take, I shoot comp because I then try my best, if I shoot B/O the moment I drop targets I think what the hell its only practice!

A few years ago I was asked to make up numbers for our county skeet team, having a PB of 95 I decided to go BO because I figured I had no chance of winning anything. 2 hours later 100 straight !  I got a lot of ribbing for that ??
