Sporting Shoots; where- and how was it? (2018)

That's better than I thought. I think we only had to wait on 2/3 stands, the rest we were pretty much straight up to shoot! All seems to flow quite smoothly.

Sporting Shoots; where- and how was it? (2018)

Had the choice to head either north or south, Longridge or Orston. Looked at the weather and decided on an early trip up to Orston and mostly missed the heavy rain and strong winds apart from a constant background drizzle. Had the chance at a decent card and start focusing on a number which made...

This really is a sport that rewards quality practice time. Keep at it!

Sporting Shoots; where- and how was it? (2018)

Two very enjoyable shoots this weekend. Saturday was the Premier League at EJC; my only complaint was the 4.5 hours it took to shoot 😭. I was getting a bit hangry (hungry angry) so stopped for a drink and pork pie after 7 stands. It obviously worked as I only dropped 2 birds over the remaining...

    Pimp up.my pump

I've got some dirty great extended ported chokes for the end of the semi auto. That helps with the redneck look that you're going for  :D

    Cartridge choice

I've heard a lot of people say this but when I cut open a white gold and a super gem I found differences in the wad, powder, primer and shot.

I actually looked at exactly the same gun today in a gunshop and was tempted for a bit of fun! Enjoy!

    Cost to shorten stock?

I'm interested to see this discussion. I wanted to increase the length of the stock slightly by either fitting a spacer or just a larger pad. I went to see a Kickeeze in a store and its got a crazy sticky finish on it. Seems a sure thing to snag on clothing? Is there a big difference between...

Sporting Shoots; where- and how was it? (2018)

Westfields. Cold. Hail. Snow. Managed 88/120. Nothing to write home about! Oh well, day on the longtails tomorrow will make up for it.

Went back to Orston today as not a huge selection on. Some nice variety of clays including a couple more testing targets; I do wonder why they don't get the same volume of entries as other grounds?  Wheels fell off in the middle but decent start and end. 75. Literally an average performance and...

You'll find that channels reviews are intrinsically linked to their current stock list or partnerships.

Well done!!  You’ve got Westfield on tomorrow, would be worth a visit for sure 👍

Sporting Shoots; where- and how was it? (2018)

It's been a busy festive period but with not a lot of shooting! Last outing was Westfield for their extreme, unregistered, shoot.  Struggled to get in to the shoot, not the targets fault but just me. Really showed with the scores, I have only ever shot one other worse score, and that was one of...

    Euro Shooting Cash #5 (6/7th April 2019)

http://www.shooting-club.com/esc2019/ Euro Shooting Cash returns in 2019. 6th and 7th April.  100 targets each day. Further details to come out soon. I've not shot this before but hoping to make the drive over this year, it's meant to be a fantastic atmosphere and some stonking targets.

    Invector DS Choke Pattern Pictures

This is exactly as I found with mine. The chokes are not as 'tight' as others, but coupled with a decent over boring (18.7 or even 18.8 I think?) then you're going to have to choke up a few notches to get decent performance. I was using Teague 3/8's and 1/2's most of the time.

    What stock finish?

It is the Essevierre stock. I'm keen to keep it in the best condition I can hence asking about the best finishes.  Would the use of a trade secrets kit require the existing finish to be stripped back?  I've put a number of coats of the 'Slippery Dicks' wax on to keep it protected and waterproofed.

    What stock finish?

I'm toying with the idea of getting my stock refinished as it's got a bit marked up over a year of fairly heavy use.  Are there are advantages/disadvantages over particular finishes? E.g. London Best being a bit slippy in the wet? I need a hard wearing finish mainly, quite like the look of...
