no but I would have lessons from someone who was a good teacher and not necessarily an F1 champion

I once witnessed a "Shooting lesson" given to a friend by chap who had won about 5 World Championships. It was a fair while ago. The best advice he took away from that session was that "you're behind it Mate!" It certainly didn't improve my friend's shooting, other than putting a few more hits on the scorecard during the duration of the lesson. Admittedly he didn't pay for the lesson as he won it in a competition, but the quality of coaching was dreadful, and the coach appeared to just be going through his contractual obligations.

Aparently the 'Coach' has gone on to win a few more World titles and become a well respected shooter.

I once had coaching from a guy who had never been in the situations he was coaching us to perform in. He had studied his craft however, and his advice has probably saved my bacon on more than one occasion, and that of several others I was working with over the years. Some people have the ability to put across information in a way which is valuable, and some high achievers, while impressive to the untrained eye, don't.

The point I'm trying to make is, don't get dazzled by "Hero worship". Think more Yoda or Mr Miyagi and you'll get the idea.

again an excellent observation and one I fully concur with. My point exactly.

I have had a few coaches and I think your needs change as you improve / develop your own style and you need different levels of support.

Find one you get on with, is easy for you to see, at a price you can afford and who helps you improve your shooting...simples

I have found a new one who I will tell you about on another thread not wanting to hijack this one about Ed. Actually I have TWO new favourite men...both of whom are equally important IMO.
