Hi guys,

Let me explain. We have taken on a business as a going concern and are trying to take what is a cracking set up onto the next level along side that we have added a lot to the ground too. (New layouts, flush tower, mains electric, upgraded the stone lodge). Lady's wood has had almost an elitist and expensive reputation. We want people to know all are welcome at all abilities and from all walks of life.

Rounds have to be caddied due to the nature of the layouts and grounds. We are in the process of developing a number of practice/pay and play stands once a few issues are ironed out we hope to role that out soon. Yes the pay and play will be for members only but there will be a pay and play membership (A lot cheaper) alongside the full membership. ( member benefit will be 20p per clay on the pay and play)

To get people through the door and visit we have offered the 100 bird lesson on weekdays for £75 offer this month and also the monthly open comps on the last Saturday from May.

Keep the questions coming guys, I want to make this place work and threads like this help us improve.

Cheers

Chippy
I can't see you losing the elitist and expensive tag while ever you charge a compulsory £30 on top of the round because customers are not able to go round on their own (as in the ground will not allow it).

The charge for the 'caddy' is more than a lot of grounds charge for 100 bird (albeit not a reg comp) round with a trapper.  My local ground would charge £26 all in. And I can use my own cartridges.

The caddy/ practice round is now £40 including 100 birds.

Is that a little more tempting chaps?

Cheers

Not wanting to comment on the individual prices, but it does seem a little expensive at the side of Tarp shooting.

100 OT practice at my usual ground is £24.

If any of you lazy sporting shooters want a go I will happily carry your gun for you and push some buttons for an additional £16.

Just saying

Are you aware that you would have to walk further than across 10 yards on a bit of concrete path? And that your shoes could get grass stains? And that there may be an incline to address, or a tree to walk around? Not to mention the blow-your-mind effect of different coloured clays going in all directions and being scored differently according to presentation. I would stay put in your nice covered trap area if I were you. And if the pair of going away orange clays dries up, then there might be a patch of wet paint on the wall that requires your attention while it dries (thus equalling the interest level of the trappie clays).

Sorry IPS (and Les) but you have been asking for it on this thread. Big style.. :)

That's a jolly nice offer from you Ips.

I do feel however, that it might cost you more than your £16.00 profit to travel down to Devon each time I shoot. So, to be fair, and to show I'm not the "tightwad" everyone thinks I am, I would be prepared to give you an extra tip of 50p per round just to make it worth your while.   :buba:

Please ensure you wear camoflage and welly boots so that you fit in with the other patrons. Many thanks.   :sarcastichand:

Wow what a nice and generous offer and did i hear mention of free accommodation with full breakfast ?

Not sure about the wellies though there still caked in mud from that time 40up dragged me around a sporting shoot. cammo i am also struggling with unless i need to blend in with folk in suits and tie in which case i am ok.

Nick, you can use your own carts. Fibre wad 28g 7 max load.

The grounds are fully wheel chair accessible. Give me a call to chat about it if you want.

Thanks

Chris

Chris,

Well done on trying to accommodate the every wish of the shooting fraternity.

Now all you need to do is appease the plastic wad users and you've got it cracked.

For those of you considering a round of practice clays, you could try Coley's @ £35 per 100,  OR Ladies's  Wood @ £40 for 100 brilliant targets, superb grounds and shooting lodge  and a fabulous set of targets off a tower that will test the best.

Fibre Wads only, not for me "I AM OUT"

I'd rather burn 40 notes than shoot 100 trap...

Sounds good guys will pop in one day over summer when passing by.

You must have shot trap in the past, AA DTL, on a serious note, how much 'trap' did you shoot when you were younger and did it teach you anything that has benifited you in sporting? I'd imagine Richard Faulds doesn't miss many teal targets...

Think I shot 3 DTL shoots, just to see if I could do 100 straight if I remember. More of a test for me mentally, not sure how much it helped if at all. Did bore me to tears!

Did you get a 100 straight Ed? Or was it so boring that you didn't notice?

I wonder how many of our Hedge Monkey friends have shot 100 straight at UT or OT. Just saying. :hunter:
