Gavin M70 has 76mm aka 3" chambers - backbored barrels with lengthened forcing cones. I guess MK70 was never to be dedicated sporter but a crossbred hunter/sporter that would also swallow hunting mag. ammo.

Now...for those that have shot it before...do we need some 6.5 for longer range stuff too?

Do they have side events that are worth shooting if you are a mortal?
Shot it last year but it was held up North! It wasn't an eye sight test but a cleverly set course with great use of the terrain and natural coverage which had targets for all class of shooters. Can't recall any target that resembled a 12ft crow and needed 6.5 shot! Really enjoyed it so back for more this year. Just hope the set up this year is as good.   :assassin:

Both of those patterns are awesome freeshot.  Nice and even.  Nothing would get through either pattern and you'd get really good breaks on them.

IMO and admittedly limited experience some fibre wads perform well depending on the gun they are being used in. A friend  used Hull pro through a DT10 with great results upgraded to a DT11 and they just don't seem to have the same impact in terms of range or break quality. There also appears to be more felt recoil with fibres especially in terms of so called high end carts such as Black Gold etc. In terms of what I've used through my SV10: Blue diamond 28g shoulder dislocating recoil and the plastic was was no better. Black gold 24g comfortable, white Gold 28g comfortable, Velocity and superfast noticible but not excessive. Rio and Hull pro noticible but completely manageable. Strangely some of the cheapest NSI prima, victory sporters, Maxam imperials and Jocker are the most comfortable and most are also fairly clean. All good for straw bail usage inc close to medium range presentations. The smaller shot size Victory sporters do confetti though. Break quality good across all except blue diamond. Favourites are Rio, white gold and Hull pro in that order although Black Gold at range are devastating. Did really like the Fiocchi super sporting which I think we're comparable with the black gold performance with less recoil but they were discontinued. Top1 had some quality issues a while back and as with Eley fibres produced the goth wedding effect and left the gun looking like a cows backside after a vindaloo. Not tried the fblack fibre. Just food for thought!  :assassin:
