Westfield is still one of my favourite grounds to shoot as it's in a lovely area and you get all targets types (usually a few long or fast ones chucked in for good measure).

Although Atkin Grant and Lang have really upped their game over the past 12 months, they have great facilities and a well maintained ground. There are shingle paths to every stand too, so no getting covered in mud!

The targets are set fair with the odd big or deceptive target, with high gun usually 96 or 97.

If you are a game shot there is a couple of high towers which throw some great driven or crossing targets. Certainly worth a trip if you've not been.

Only done southern grounds - WLSS, EJC, RBSS, Coleys, Bisley Long Siberia and Sporting Targets all very good  - depends to a degree what you want - no proper food at BLS but it's a delight to shoot in the woods

For Northeners

You can't beat Thimbleby, 24p a clay fired from new Promatic traps. They have 2 sport trap layouts,a training area, rabbit section and a grouse flush(to be booked) and 12 or more esp stands all on clay mate so you can shoot alone.

A comments book that they read and act upon plus constant upgrades to the ground, what more could a man want......oh yes and a bacon roll .

Done Bisley Siberia a couple of times,, a bit basic as far as it go`s,  but wonderful setting. Pity they only do one shoot a year. probably the best ESP targets i have seen.

I enjoy Bisley because it's rarely on, (comps anyway) but there are a good few places that would rival or better their targets IMO.

You tell me Will, as i said, my experience in the UK is very limited ! I thought bisley is nice because of the woodland setting, much like EJC.

The thing i find is a lot of shoots are exposed fields, walk along the side of a field to each stand, even machines on view with no attempt to hide them behind a bit of cover,, plus you have no reference to distance etc, which you do need in my opinion, especially in FSP , when you are required to shoot from a list, without knowing what the clay type is.
