I find it odd when people don't acknowledge a class win as being worthy.  In sporting I'm competing against my class and working my way up it.  I'm not competing against Martin Myers (my personal lucky rabbits foot) or Jon Kendall or our own Parcours Pete (although I've not been far behind him once ?  ). I'll say it again because I want to brag - Gunsite 13th December - some of you were there and going by scores it wasn't a give away shoot I got an 83, not enough to be at the top and get a win in the way Ips suggests it should be done.  I did share ladies with an A class lady - should have gone class because I was 6 clear of the next C class shooter.  I actually don't care about the money but I do want to be recognised when I've achieved in my CLASS.  This time I whipped quite a number of A and AA so it was extra special and went beyond my class.  BUT I'm still C class my consistency is yet to be established - I'm working on it.

I think a lot of Ground owners have got carried away a bit on what their customers actually want !

Yes ! I am sure Martin Myers etc., would love to be in with a shout at winning £60,000.

But the majority of competitors just wish to shoot good targets at a sensible price , travel the country, make new friends and enjoy the sport.

Let us have more events such as The Essex Masters, Beretta Worlds, etc  dotted around the Country , let's not forget The Scots, The North , West , and East please . :D :D

I mean no offence to anyone I can assure you andI would not take anything away from a class win, it seems that the majority like the class system and have the mindset to compete within the confines of there class. I am obviously in a minority of possibly one ? I personally remain steadfast that for me I do not concern myself with classes I only want to be as close as possible to the HG. The reality of classes is that .1% separates you from being the top of B class or the very bottom of A if you shoot within the confines of B and win you enjoy the accolade of victory but if you had been just very slightly better last year you would be a lowly A shooter with little possibility of winning. Unless however were talking certain trap disciplines in which case on many occasions B and even C shooters can not only be right at the top but actually HG therefore in that respect classes are a nonsense imho.

anyway each to there own opinion as long as we all enjoy the lifestyle the way we want to approach it is all that matters.

Don't worry Ian, we all realise that we just need to ignore you for a few months now until you have done enough sporting shoots to stop seeming like you were born yesterday. ?

phew for a minute there I thought I had offended you in some way ?

Ha ha, no it's just intriguing seeing somebody who has been shooting for so long learning the other side of it. Btw, have you tried sporting with your trap gun?

I shot esp with the trap gun two years ago when I did the charity shoot with Phil and Rupert and I used the trap gun on my phessie day the other week. I am very happy with the game gun it fits very well and comes up nice so I shall stay with it.

I could see ips shooting a S x S for game and occasional clays. I am just a bit concerned about him roosting though, I do not believe he has a good head for heights !
