Bryn......that last post ...No 175 was pulling the leg  could you not tell :wink:Tink I've represented my country and have a box full of medals (one or two big fook orf ones) & trophies festering away in the basement somewhere, I would love to represent my country again but I don't need money to make it worth my while but each to their own. Just because I'm not motivated by cold hard cash don't think myself and others like me aren't extremely competitive by nature
:beee:That is that then....
It proves that everyone is different with their views and neither side is right or wrong.
I think we need 2 separate bodies.
One for competition hard core.....lots of money, big silver foook off cups....massive medals like the Olympics.....and no classes  Payout down to 50th place.
and
One for all those who think that birds only is a competition.....with no money (because it is not important)....little plastic silver coloured cups (because it is not about the size of the cup) and medals for all those who turn up ...plus a medal for top 3 in class and category
Job sorted.
On that i do agreeCome on boys.....it is sunny outside....lighten up....
The point is .....as Wylye knew when he posted the thread....that everyone's view would be different......and no one is either right or wrong...and many are half and half.
Very few can win the big money....but lots still want to try for their 'lucky day aspect' of shooting......
The point about competition shooting (and i am not talking about Sunday registereds) is holding it up in 'the big event'.....and in a lot of those there are great prizes.....but it is the title that you fight for in my opinion.
My post was a taking the urine post...........doh..:beee:
One slight flaw as far as i can see,
The olympics, the pinnacle of all sporting events, does not give cash prizes as far as i recall, it's the kudos of being the best.
The only sports that i know of that give cash prizes, are darts and snooker, i dont remember seeing those in 2012??
So we have a paradox, on one side we have and want to promote clay pigeon shooting as pinnicle sport at olympic level
At the other we want to offer huge cash pots and sponsorship, which puts it with the likes of darts and snooker. neither of which are at olympic level
Or is it resistance to change ?
The money has always been there, but now that some are voicing an opinion, with the ability to cut off a revenue stream the recipients are unhappy?
Mart
ah hahahahahahahahahahaha there is.... :laugh:It appears there is always room for another post before changing to page 11!
