Shot the 9 o'clock slot starting stand 5 and the sun killed us over the ridge, and that was the end of a decent score stand 7 was the killer for me as i hit the first pair but blinded myself in the sun! Then missed the next 6! Doh! Other than that shoot was good and scored well after we got past the sun, bar stand 14 a "what sort of lead do they need in this wind" 1 ex 8. But happy with 81 after the issues with the sun.

Nice set of lads on the squad as well, and nice to see a pro shoot some targets.

Must stop overleading soft targets - next practise session

Unforgivable to set targets into the sun. Rank amateurism. I would have been tempted to find the course setter and explain that the sun is in the same spot on this day every year, so any bull about 'it was cloudy when I set it' is the excuse of an idiot. Pathetic performance at a shoot of this status.

You'd be unlucky to see any sun at Llandegla :.:

Shot the Sporting and Sportrap yesterday at 9am and 3pm respectively on the same squad as Nicky T and really enjoyed the whole day.

Finished on 83 in Sporting and 59 in Sportrap, very happy with the Sporting result and reasonably so with Sportrap having never shot it before.

Must say I thought the day was very well organised, good targets, lovely ground, professional reffing and great facilities.

Iggy.

Well done on the 83 Iggy - good shooting :)

well shot Iggy, it was nice to catch up with you on the sportrap layout :)

I shoot there once a month and the ground is run well with good targets I was expecting the targets to be set around the landscape avoiding the critical ridge area where the sun always causes problems ( as I understand the CPSA set the course they might had addressed this) - daft thing is i know this and still booked on at 9 the perils of family life!

Overall great experience as my first major shoot and will be practising hard for next year !

Shot the sporting at 11am, let myself down with an 84 :-( started well on stand 8 with a strait another on 9 then started dropping silly ones all over the place, the wind made all the floaty ones a challenge, would have been happy in the 90's.........without the wind I honestly think I could have been in the hunt for c class........bugger!!!

Good day though, met a few shootclay members and had Shortlegs in my squad with another two really nice guys from South Wales!!!

Shot at 11am.

Good to meet Shortlegs, Darkside and Optima.

With Tonky, Mrs Shootclay Plate winner, Ian, Jason and Wayne.

Great squad abilities throughout the classes.

Blanked the pool so somewhat apprehensive.

Started on stand Eleven

Missed all the R-L tealy crossy things so worried but came in with an as yet unconfirmed 86/120.

Shot some great stands and loved it.

Thanks Chard, much appreciated.

Are you taking part - if you are all the best and take your shades for the ridge!

Iggy.
Yes, I'm on at 11am tomorrow with Timps and Big Gay Al  Lucky me........

I'm on at 9 - just about to get an early night in the salubrious Premier inn Wrexham... I read Nickys post about sunglasses and got mine out to bring with me, they are still on the coffee table at home, so please pray for my retinas tomorrow morning at church!
