Yes, I'm on at 11am tomorrow with Timps and Big Gay Al Lucky me........
You are very privileged that I allowed you to shoot on my squad. Al is only on because I hear you like taking pictures of big blokes shooting. :)

Those burgers were awsome!!! I hadn't eaten for 7 hours, that burger hit the spot!!!

Yes fully agree, the burger was the best part about the shoot, pity they,d ran out when we finished shooting about 6.30pm
They'd ran out at half 5 after we finished shooting - 4 and a half hours!?! Lost the will to live.

Shot the sporting at 11am, let myself down with an 84 :-( started well on stand 8 with a strait another on 9 then started dropping silly ones all over the place, the wind made all the floaty ones a challenge, would have been happy in the 90's.........without the wind I honestly think I could have been in the hunt for c class........bugger!!!

Good day though, met a few shootclay members and had Shortlegs in my squad with another two really nice guys from South Wales!!!
it was a pleasure to shoot on the same squad as you darkside even though you gave me a sound beating with your score (WELL SHOT) against my lowly 69 !!! :( didnt shoot my best had troubles seeing some targets and over leading stuff will have to get my eyes checked ! and get some practice in,it was also good to meet others from the site Jem0911(well shot good score),optima, fuzrat,Mrs Fuz hope the others shot well and enjoyed the comp. overall I thought it was well run with targets set for everyone to enjoy but also test themselves.

My face feels like a well slapped arse......sun burn!!!
same here face very very red has a real glow could fry eggs on my cheeks as for wind that could be the curry i had last night :) . Hope you had a good journey back home, best of luck with the FITASC today darkside shoot well .It would be a pleasure to shoot in your company any time .

Apologies if this has been asked or raised before, but will the scores registered at the Open be registered on your CPSA averages like a regular registered shoot?

Iggy.

So - 24 hours to let the British Open sink in - my initial thoughts (full review to follow tonight).

Fauxdegla, it's a lovely ground with "four seasons in ten minutes", at one point I had the sun in my eyes, so I turned round to watch mist and drizzle blowing up the valley - can imagine that is not a fun place to shoot in February! The team were excellent, very few trap breakdowns, all fixed and filled in minutes. Facilities excellent, welcoming clubhouse, good food and drinks - nice staff everywhere including the owner who was highly visible. Just a shame it is three and a bit hours away - otherwise I'd be there more often.

The Shoot - An OK layout, was surprised to see no driven or overheads, and no rabbits - but targets were alright. Could have done with better use of the battues - the sim pair of floppy battues was a waste of two traps for me. (cf the Worlds at Sweetslade for two fun battues that made everyone sit up and take notice) Seemed like a lot of targets were VERY wind affected, which is a shame because it means everyone had a different day of shooting. Ditto the sun, we didn't have many problems at 9am yesterday, but I can see that the ridge to the east must cause problems quite often, so its a shame they didn't figure that out. Yesterday we had the changeable weather, but nothing was majorly affected. There was something out there for everyone - but there could have been a bit more for everyone in my opinion.

My shoot - I shot poorly - first shoot for four weeks, missed a lot of 'easy' shots - and went home a bit disappointed, some fundamentals to work on for me, have made too many changes this season and not reaped any benefits, and I'm not sure where I am going wrong at the moment... will be reassessing a little bit over the next few weeks. Will also be bionic by the end of the month, which will help. Took a 70, well under my average and as I say, disappointing. Must try harder.

Pretty stunning scenery to shoot in
