All I can say Cyril is that we have been absolutely inundated with ideas and requests from the region - particularly Dorset, and I think it will take the full committee ages to digest it all and pick out the best ones.

PS Mr Taylor  -- if you wish to become involved with CPSA matters I am positive that your county committee will be very pleased to hear from you and will be most welcoming. The SW Chairman, Tony Read, is of course one of you so please feel free to contact him with your proposals.

based on the last piece of advice of who to contact being completely incorrect and probable misinformation i think i will ignore you pointing me in the direction of anyone mr Stone

what i suggested is apparently already in use....being the font of all knowledge correct or incorrect i am surprised you did not know.

Er...................just in case anyone is interested, it would appear that the price of oil is due to rise towards the end of this year. This is one of the lame excuses used to hike the price of cartridges, so BE WARNED stock up early !

The oil price is currently where it was in 2005, so plenty of room to rise and not cause an issue that wasn't there for the last 10 years..

So, are you saying that the cartridges that you use, are the same price as 10 years ago then Will ??
I wish. What I meant was, oil prices are very low now, so while cartridges have not gone down accordingly, they should not go up until oil exceeds its peak of a few years ago. (Is there much oil used in cartridges then? Just some for the plas case which is a cheap bit anyway)?

Dorset is your problem my friend, I have nothing to do with that bit of the SW Region. I live in Somerset with Cyril and other rational, civilised people who enjoy their shooting and life in general.

i am not defending the industry but i think they would point out that it takes energy to make them, pretty much all oil related, then oil to transport them ships/trucks so probably the plastic case would be the smallest contribution.

the price still should have come down but market forces dictating...people keep buying cartridges means they never will significantly.

bet they go up again within months of an oil price rise though

Well I thing that's just about answered the question on budget cartridges! Now what about budget steel cartridges? NO ONLY JOKING!

I would bet that NONE of the serious players would choose to put in a budget cartridge for a serious big money big title shoot. If they ever do.....it might prove that they have balls of steel......or it might prove that they think that they are invincible with whatever they use (because they are naturally great shots)........but would they win...........??

I don't think that will happen unless someone gets disgruntled with their ex sponsor and tries to make a point. Also would a really top shooter shoot budget cartridges in training for a competition only to change up, to me it would seem counter productive? I shoot one for all and it is probably classed as budget, although I can buy cheaper but I am just not a good enough shooter to tell one from the other, other than the recoil... that is my arbiter! My scores are still rising slowly so I am learning when they stop maybe Clever's next up the ladder to massage my subconscious doubts?

It ain't going to happen John....true story

I agree but my thought was MD getting punted by Clever just to pick up a box or two of Fiocchi top 2's or suchlike to win some top comp or other... and he is probably very capable of doing so. Love for some top shot to do that to be honest or even better some no mark using his Sunday best Rocky style "Duh a was just usin ma usual ammo from ehh walmart but ma team believes in me and it drove me on".
