Thinking from the male dominated sport point of view .. I must agree..

Shooting is for sure a male dominated sport,

And I feel sometimes intimidated by 99.9 % of males watching me while I am shooting especially reg,

Would be great to see more ladies not only walking round with dogs but also the one who shoots or

even just learning to shoot like myself.

There is also big whole on the market regards the female clay shooting outfits,

Which might sound crazy for most of you,

However it's hard to find something in the right size ! ( for any shape ) ..

not mention about the comfort ..
I have not yet found a male who had been anywhere near intimidating me......true story..!

Not yet seen or heard any dinosaurs making adverse discriminatory remarks about women shooting.  I suppose it happens as there is still a male only golf club in Scotland!  Good luck to them but personally I enjoy female company.  It is not apparent in small-bore target shooting at all so why with clays or is that because its roots were in high society where the males ran the show before the emancipation of women?

To me, that is less irritating than a chap trying to offer "helpful advice". That's not about how I shoot, it's about someone trying to create some kind of power or authority over me. I am confident in this point because Cheryl Hall says it still happens to her. Definitely not about the shooting then, just about telling me what to do.

I've never witnessed it either Robert, but that doesn't mean it isn't occasionally a problem though I suppose. Anyone making a naff comment about any woman shooter can get knotted as far as I'm concerned.

I think that this applies equally to men as much as women.  There is always the "know it all"or the "doesn't suffer fools gladly" person who tries to be superior in any discussion or sporting activity.  Usually the "doesn't suffer fools gladly' type is one one those who needs to get the plank out of their own eye before criticising or offering help to others!

I don't., Men will approach a woman way more than they will other men. So yes, there's a know it all in every group, but more men spot a woman or two and think they are entitled to comment or "help".

Too right when I started shooting everyone male or female thought they knew better than the next and offer advice.
Soon learnt not too listen.
Always made me laugh to watch the expert behind me go on to blank the stand after proffering advice on my misses.

"I love to see women around a shooting ground" it's the only way you can get a decent cuppa!!!! Only teasing before anyone gets rattled, I am always up for encouraging lady shooters !!

You don't have to be a world class shot to know what's right and wrong some of the most knowledgeable people in all sports don't necessarily excel at it. I accept that some people don't know what there taking about but a lot do and maybe think that passing on whatever wisdom they have is helpful.

I have worked in a male environment since I was 18, I'm not offended or shocked by what men say, I certainly do not get intimidated by men, in fact I prefer mens company to women (they are nicer). I love shooting and love being the token Bird with all my shooting buddies, they all look out for me and all very supportive with my scores. Thank you all you know who you are.

P.S. I will use my womanly charm to its full potential........... As my husband says the weaker sex my arse!!!!!

Wife took up shooting about 2 years ago after standing around getting bored watching me she loves it and mixes with anyone male or female at most shoots even going with guys when she is off work for a round must say though coughing for her gun put my new one on the back burner and it can make me wince a tad when we both need shells

Hope you deduct the money from her knitting allowance Shaun...?

I also find it very easy to distract my male counterparts...especially if the scores are close....
