That's not as bizzare as it appears, a lot of grounds only do one reg a month and it takes a while to calculate the winners and their purses so paying up the following month isn't the end of the world. It's years and years since people waited around for shoot off's or brown envelopes.
They have an hour at least between the last entry paying to shoot and the last entry finishing, is that not enough time?!?!

p.s. If I'm certain I've got cash to collect it I stay!!! Learned my lesson at Auchterhouse last year, rushed round second person out, shot a 79 in B, took less than 60 mins, went to a charity shoot 100+ miles and a ferry ride away...looked up the results 2nd in B, 1st in B 79!?!? WTF!!! Auchterhouse said I wasn't there to shoot off for 1st??? (Not an area champ ect) to really rub salt in, the other 79 was from a guy who has never been out of A in 5 years...robbed!!! When I pulled them up, all I got was "you should have been here" the they gave me a whole £11 for second!!!

In fact a very rich ground could come along in a fantasy land scenario and offer you competition entry at no charge.....then where would all you avid prize fund watchers be then???

Saying thank you very much if you won owt..

Oh.......wait a minute....................

Dubai

(Ninja mode.......ban birds only and get rid of all these moans in one go. No one would have any idea or argument about prize money then...just saying..!)

Gosh.

If I remember correctly - Wylye used to have a notice with prize fund/payouts on the wall every time a shoot was on... simples.

Its Grounghog Day again!

A shooting ground is contracted to the CPSA to run a shoot on their behalf. This agreement is annual and subject to a fee from the shooting ground. When this agreement is signed there are a number of requirements needed to complete the contract, the subject of prize money is only one of them. As has been said in previous posts, the price of entry to the shoot has to be displayed. This includes the prize fund element. The difference between the two makes up the prize fund and the number of entrants must be shown at the time of last entries together with the prize fund total. How this is distributed is up to the shoot organiser.

From previous posts it is obvious that a lot of shooters have little or no knowledge about the structure of the prize fund and it is also becoming obvious that some shooting grounds holding registered shoots either do not understand the rules or choose to ignore them for reasons best known to themselves.

From a commercial point of view it makes good sense to be open and transparent about prize money. Follow the rules and display the information, pay out as many people as you can so they go away happy and hopefully return to the next shoot with four mates. Prize money is an important marketing tool and if grounds don't realise this then they don't deserve to succeed.

So did I do any good in AA and did Harry do any good in C !!!!!!!!

William ( Churchill ) my dear friend you are normally the one stamping the table at 7 pm if no results are posted out , but now it's ok to wait is it ????

Now to top it all I have just heard from a shooter that was there yesterday that they shot the challenge today and guess what ??? It was the same course as yesterday apart from the sequence !!!

I can't believe the moans I get sometimes if I leave a single trap in the same area let alone 10 stands .

Guess this is the difference between true competition grounds and corporate coaching grounds .

I have been a strong supporter at ejc since they have been doing the comps about 5 years ago not missing many and always shooting the challenge , but I get the feeling recently that competition shooters are not really catered for

Real shame

Sigh.. Answers: :)

Well as I assume they will have sent the results to CPSA today, so they will be on that website in full tomorrow. I am guessing that this will be on the same day as your scores from last Sunday makes it to CPSA too. So they are at least 4 days ahead of you! (Sticking winners on Facebook doesn't count. Most of your shooters aren't the winners, but still want to see how they and everybody else did).

As for the Challenge, it is a repeat entry course running for 3 months, so what's the problem with it being based on yesterday's?

I know for a fact that EJC are working on the prize element right now and they are keen to get it right and give the product that shooters want. (Because I have been discussing it all day with them..)

Happy weekend folks..

Bullsh*t!!!

Sporting is about variety so say a hundred or so shot yesterday I can't see them rushing back in the next three months to do a reentry on the same course

This is exactly what I said about the worlds with three events on the same ground , but I suppose if we shoot Fitasc the first day , then sportrap , then prelim we could use the same course as they are technically different disciplines !!!!!!

As far as results go will you might not have noticed but there had been several bank holidays in the last fortnight and I even called Cpsa today to be told they were on skeleton staff until Monday .

I was hoping yesterday after a good day they would have done a presentation which would have Been good to boost Harry , for me I couldn't give a toss about it really but it just all seemed to die away , so I guess I will go next month and see

all day ? surely someone there knows the prize winners ? because if they don't what ever is going to happen when they run a major like the world ??

I admire your standing of their defense, but the wicket looks pretty sticky right now :banghead:

Thanks Shakespeare :)

At Weston, there were about 180 entries. Therefore about 160 won't be listed as winners but would still be intrigued to see the overall scores list.
Clever if you give your email to Allison she sends out the results in full along with a couple of jokes for a giggle.

There were actually 220 all in and guess what I filled traps and Allison did all admin all on our own and I read out results and prize money at 3.50 pm

Then packed the batteries away loaded 6 special traps , drove back to Westfield set up 3 stands with special traps got home 9.00 pm from 5.30 am , had macdonalds for dinner , bath , up again to Westfield early Monday did another 120 entries then got home late Monday night ready for New Year's Eve

So please don't tell me with the army they have they haven't got time

This is my last comment on this I'm getting bored !

All the best everyone see you at the worlds !!

Well said Will.

And that is the point. EJC has put a lot of investment into the ground since I was there earlier last year.

They have an important private client base that...1. Is happy to be there....2. Respects the hard work done on the infra structure to make it an enjoyable place to spend time shooting or learning to shoot.

They only do a small amount of registered shoots because it simply is not their main business. No one makes a good living out of CPSA reg shoots....that is why many grounds have stopped it.....true story!!
sh*t!! We are all going to have to shoot TRAP!!!! Wake me up??? Wake me up

. You just answered my question from an early post!!!

Shakespeare...more of a Burn's man, thanks!

They all have the same number of classes, with 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each...just Churchills have LESS non winning scores to add up!!! So tell me again why they can't publish a winners list on social media??? Too many staff???
