Starting this thread to capture thoughts and reviews of the English Open

You would think in this day and age that you could see the scores ticking in.. but no.. tonight I guess.. Matt have you heard from Fuz and Tobi?

CSC3

You'd think so - what worries me most is this tweet from @CPSAUK:

English Open Sporting 2012: Are you going to enjoy some sun while shooting @SouthdownGC tomorrow? Tweet your scores to us @CPSAuk

You think they'd know!

Haven't heard from Tobi or Gav who are shooting today - Fuz is still in Kos, comes back tomorrow for our squad on Sunday. Hoping to get an early report this evening from the guys onsite...

and very nice it is too :D this is certainly the way to prepare for a major, few (many) beers, fresh seafood straight off the boat and on the grill, and a bit of beach and snorkeling :D first time I will even think about my shooting will be 2 am Sunday morning when I walk in the house and get my kit ready before a few hours kip.

Be good to hear how its shooting though. Not really worth worrying about it tbh, bet C will be won with a cricket score. I'm just looking for a nice morning out in the sunshine, some decent targets and a top bit of pig/cow in bread :.: same as any other sunday morning ;)

Not long got in. I am on suicide watch. Need some beers. Pizza in the oven. Lovely weather we're having though.

But - you shot 22 at OT yesterday, obviously still in trap mode.....or was it really that hard?

Take his tie and shoelaces! Then he can survive to tell us of the full horrors. A registered there last year was enough to beat me up..

Ok, so it's 15 stands and they're all down the "lane" on either side. We (GavB) started on stand 10 and finished on 9

Lots of 3 pair stands which I don't know if I like or dislike. A few rangey ones which I can't hit at the best of times and no surprise I still can't hit them.

I liked our squad. Father and son and the son, Jake, is one to watch. Must be about 12/13 I guess and lovely shooting action, very little gun movement, shot an 84 I think and made it look like shelling peas.

Can't remember all of the other's names. Roy (Cherry?) from Oxford, another very good shot. He reckons a mid-90s should win it

The trouble with three pair stands is you must be on the money as there is no chance of a recovery.

Sounds interesting though, will find out Sunday.

An 84 from a young lad is superb, if slightly unsettling.. So are the Tobi and Gav scores to be kept under wraps then..?

Gav beat me and I was lowest score in our squad. If you want to know it have a look at the CPSA website when the results are up. :) Probably a discard for me. Already forgot about it, now looking forward to friend's wedding tomorrow and the hot single crumpet that will be in attendance. Goodie bag consists of an apple, bottle of water and a badge (for the shoot not the wedding)

For my last foray in C class I managed a 81! I had been dreading it because I haven't been shooting very well over the last few weeks, but I managed to pull myself together and have a bit of luck! Now I can look forward to B class!

Cheers dab! Am still buzzing although totally shattered. My first time at Southdown and I really enjoyed the layout and the setting!

Well shot Snipey indeed... class score! Only 11 shots off the lead from c-class... thats excellent stuff.

Good shooting indeed, snipey. Well done that man. Might be in with a sniff of some £s in C with that
