Sounds like OCD to me.Ta, but that bit is not the problem. That leaves a big mess of loosened dirt in there. It’s how best to extract that from inside the barrel threads. I push paper soaked in gun cleaner in and rotate it to pick up the muck. Then I fit a spotless choke and remove it several times, cleaning the thread each time until the choke comes out spotless. Yes, I know, I’m a fussy engineer.
The choke key with my CG doubles up as a choke cleaner. A little cap unscrews and reveals a thread with a slot cut into it, run it up and down the barrel thread and it cleans the thread a treat. Marvelous and simple, bit like my first Wife, but she'd be no good as a choke cleanerBtw if anybody has a top tip for how to clean the barrel threads (which are a good way back from the muzzle), do let me know. I’m redefining the term awkward-struggle when I do it. You need a finger like E.T.
