Hello

I have been shooting a few months now, most places around here seem to fibre only. I have tried Gamebore Velocity, Eley Olympic Blue and Hull Superfast all in fibre wad and there seems to be a lot of black mess in the air when I shoot them, I think this is the wad disintegrating but I am finding it off putting.

Can anyone recommend a fibre cartridge where this confetti effect is minimised? Without spending a fortune.

Cheers

They are not all the same I find. Cheaper ones tend to have the wad fall apart. Actually I rarely have this issue with Gamebore Velocity.. Certainly if you use hull Pro Fibre or similar, you will rarely if ever get this in my experience. Clever T2 Fibre were very good too.

I have never experienced this with Hull Superfast fibre, are you sure it is not a storage problem ?  Even putting them into the car the night before a shoot can affect them. If you find it off putting, try and get some Baikal paper cased cartridge, that should cure the problem.    :spiteful:

I have currently got some Noble Italia fibres.  Absolute filth.  If you use one straight out of cold storage its like turning on a leaf blower.

Never use anything other than fibre, found Hull Pro fibre and Superfast give least confetti along with Cheddite Universals.

Fiocchi are not too bad ,Gamebore seem worst.

Hth.

I shot fibre once. Never again was like shootong black powder

Going to go and buy some different ones to try tomorrow . I can get gamebore blue diamond locally at reasonable cost, are these any good?

I agree with Will about Velocities. I mainly shoot them, in both guises and haven't had a problem with the fibres.

I shot some English Sporter fibres at a game fair last year in cold wet weather and I genuinely thought I had broken clays when it was the confetti. Terrible.

If you really want no confetti as far as I've found its Eley VIP Sporting or Gamebore black gold. VIP sporting are my choice, black gold give me a headache after about 50/60 shells, way too bumpy! But Find the plaz wads ok. Neither are cheap though and probably way out perform me (most of us) even on a good day!.

Clever fibre T2's are excellent, fibre T1's are very good, just a little bumper on the shoulder, both clean with no confetti :)

Gamebore black gold are in my opinion the best felt wad shells on the market they burn clean and are fast and hard hitting but they are a bit pricey .

( thats the second time i have pushed Gamebore shells on here, and no i do not work for Gamebore . )

I hadn't mentioned Black Gold Fibre as the original poster requested "reasonable price" but they are the best I've used (and I've tried most of the others!)
