I'm guessing these cartridges have been talked about before and I'm thinking of getting some would you recommend them or not and it also seems people are use black golds any feedback on these too

Clays.. Really!... But sarcasm aside nice cartridge smooth but hits clays hard and at distance. Tried the 28g on sporting layout and the 24g on Skeet. Mate had a few issues putting the 24g through his Perazzi in terms of miss fires, brass getting stuck under the ejectors and not ejecting but I had no issues through my Beretta. Never used Black Golds.

I used the 24gm for sporting - no problems thru my Beretta and I liked them and have ordered more.

BLACK GOLDS EVERYTIME . TRIED THE EVOS IN FELT WADS  (PHUT POP)  I SUPPOSE YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR . WOULDNT SAY THEY ARE ANY BETTER THAN A BUDGET ELEY OR FIOCCHI SHELL THAT WOULD BE TENNER A THOU CHEAPER.  BLACK GOLD ARE GOOD IN FELT AND PLAS WAD. EXCELLENT IN GAME LOADS TOO. FIOCCHI ARE BRINGING OUT A FBLACK IN FELT SEPTEMBER LOOKING FORWARD TO GIVING THOSE A TRY.  I GUESS ITS WHAT SUITS YOU YOUR GUN AND MOSTLY YOUR POCKET!!!!!

Budget eley and fiocchi shell in the same sentence   oh dear

You may need more than a tin hat. :frantics:

I use 24gm Evo's in plastic and White Gold 28gm, both are excellent shells as are the Black Gold (only tried the fibre 8's). I mainly shoot sporting, sportrap and fitasc and have no problems using the 24gm Evo's, very smooth and kill very well. Have not had any issues with any misfires or shells getting stuck in the ejectors of my Miroku MK38.

You wouldn't go wrong buying 250 Evo's and trying them out.

Black golds are a pile of poo!
Thumpy, expensive and actually not that good...

I use white golds...however if you want a nice middle of the road Kent velocity

Sorry blackstar ninja I will be using them for sporting and I use eley Olympics at the moment but used white gold xlr before eleys so was thinking about the evos to see what they are like and I use a beretta to

As Madmatt said buy 250 and try them out, you won't be disappointed I think they are smoother than Olympics which are IMO one of the cleanest carts from Eley. Personally I avoid Eley as i prefer to spend more time shooting my gun than cleaning it

I've never had a dirty gun shooting Olympics.
Complete horse guano talk.
Firsts maybe but not Olympics.

Sent from my mobile that's my excuse for typos and errors.

Try reading my post again Jem and you will see the words "Olympics which are IMO one of the cleanest carts from Eley"!

Having shot Eley (Superbs & Olympics), Hull (Pro Ones, DTL 300 & Sovereign) and Gamebore (Evo, White Gold & Black Gold) I have found this:

Superbs are a decent cartridge, price went a little too high for my liking so switched to Olympics, kills were perfectly acceptable, issue came when my regular stockist couldn't guarantee stock.

I find Pro Ones & Sovereigns too punchy so tried Pro DTL 300's, soft cartridge with good killing power but expensive if you have to pay the full RRP

My normal stockist now do Gamebore cartridges and I was offered the chance to try Evo 24gm and White Gold 28gm, I find both cartridges to be smooth with excellent killing power and I now use these at every shoot I do. I have shot Black Gold's but only in a fibre and these were very smooth and had excellent killing power but I am more then happy using Evo & White Golds. Since switching to Gamebore I am proud to say I am now a brand ambassador for them and am more then happy to let anyone try either the Evo or White Gold if you see me at a ground.

But with most things in shooting I suggest you try different options and settle on the one that works best for you like I did and then you will choose Gamebore

I can only give an opinion on 28g fibre wadded Evo's. I have shot over 4 Thousand this year and not had a missfire or had one stick in the chamber. I find the recoil is less than most other brands and are much cleaner. IMO a very good cartridge.

Just got back from Bisley having tried out my new gun (s/h Beretta Urika) and new cartridges- 28gm Evo fibre.

I glad to say that I like them both!

The Evo's shoot hard, are easy on the shoulder and I'm glad to say cycled the semi auto perfectly.

To me they shot and felt very much like my all time favorite cartridge the Kent Champion.
