No it will give you the percieved lead , becausewhat your mind see's as the gap beetween the clays and the post ,whether your mind reads it as 2 foot or 10 foot this will be your minds perception of the lead required , it doesnt matter what your mind or for that your mate sees you will need that physical lead however your mind sees/reads it to break the target (allowing for pattern spread )Hmmm.. That will perhaps give you the actual leeed but not the perceived leeed..
Wez if its good enough for George Digweed to start his illustrious career on a skeet field its good enough for anyoneJesus... I aint taking up skeet now, that's for sure :fie:
No bike at the moment, not worth it with the last few years weather, plus once you have ridden to every MotoGP in Europe, our roads seem crap !!Wez if its good enough for George Digweed to start his illustrious career on a skeet field its good enough for anyone
Good to see another biker taking up shooting , you'd be amazed how many of us there are in the shooting world (meet them around every corner ) must be something about bikers and people who like to blow s**t up (perhaps its the noise ) Anyway will speak to you shortly about some brake/cluchlines for my bike asi believe you make to order .
cheers andre'
You are missing a critical point. It is the delay between telling yourself that you are pulling the trigger- and actually doing so- that accounts for most of the difference. Couple that delay with a fast or slow gun and the sight picture varies. Hence it is shooter related. Gotta go shoot now..No it will give you the percieved lead , becausewhat your mind see's as the gap beetween the clays and the post ,whether your mind reads it as 2 foot or 10 foot this will be your minds perception of the lead required , it doesnt matter what your mind or for that your mate sees you will need that physical lead however your mind sees/reads it to break the target (allowing for pattern spread )
Love it.very true i see a foot in the bedroom but my missus only sees 6 inches.must teach her maintained lead
chippy
If Will consistently breaks H4 with what he judges as 1 foot of lead he would miss it if you told him to shoot four feet of lead, it doesn't make his judgement wrong...it's what works for him. The set leads on Benders cheat sheets are a guide for shooting the targets at given points on their flight paths...another thing that is not set in stone... shooting any of the targets before or after their apparent "perfect" break point will need different lead due to speed and distance ...
I seem to remember (i think ) if you place an object (say a small pile of orange clays ) 40" both sides of the center post i,e the one where the hoop goes, in a straight line one towards the high house and one towards the low house that will give you exactly the amount of lead you should be seeing (i,e from the pile of clays to the center post ) you should be seeing from any of the stations ,so as you go (because of the differing angles )from station to station the percieved lead will be the distance you see beetween the clays and post ,
I hope i've explained this clearly enough to understand
Awww.. I hate it when I'm wrongIt means that he doesn't know what 4 feet looks like...why would that be my fault? So that does make his judgement wrong. If you are shooting maintained lead, the barrel has to be a certain distance in front of the clay...whether it is feet at the target or inches at the muzzle.
But yes I know what you are getting at. My point was based around Fuz stating what lead he sees, then others saying they seen MUCH less than that.
I was simply clarifying that Fuz's "lead", is correct.
The videos of Don and Richard taken from the gun cam thingy are quite good to watch for this, would be interesting to see it used on skeet 4 to show the actual leed required something for the diary if I can get my hands on one for an hour or 2. Mr Brunt, Mr Faulds, over to you guys. Can i borrow one pretty please
