Hmmmm Semi Auto Shooters... are they the same people who never clear the table in a fast food place ??

Went to Ashcombe yesterday, and saw some,  (6 people), with semis. That is the first time I had seen one being fired.

I was amazed at the blatant lack of care any of them, and I do mean ALL of them,  showed for anyone else or the shooting ground.

A couple of them littered the floor in the compact sporting, and even kicked the ones out of the way into the seats, which fell under their own feet !!

I was tempted to say something, but I am always getting told off for that sort of thing so thought best not to, but I must say, how sad :(

There is a stick there with a magnet on it, and it wouldn't take 2 minutes, shame on you all...

Well I have to say that it is obviously NOT the gun that is the problem in this case. Rather it is the case of the total morons that must have been using the things! :wild:

I was there on Saturday afternoon Wez and found the same but there were still loads of empties in the safe areas behind the firing line which I suspect was not solely the fault of auto shooters!

There seem to be two types of shooter -  those that care and those that don't and also those that are safe and those who aren't and there is a lot of similarity between them but by no means all semi-auto shooters.

Should have given me a shout mate, I am more than happy to fire some off as often as possible :)

Funny thing though, I was a dreadful shot on Sunday, but great last Friday ??

I was there with the family on Saturday but I'm having Fridays off from now on if a morning or afternoon might suit you?

Here we go again.

Lets start a thread about all black men that have BMWs or all women that drive cars............ad nauseam.

I agree with Robert Wez and Les on this - it is the person, not the type of gun they shoot.

I have seen shooters of both types of gun eject their shells and leave them on the floor.  Incredibly ignorant I think.

It takes a couple of moments to pick your empties up. If I'm waiting at a stand I have no problem if those in front of me take the time to pick their empties up before they depart.

I own both types of gun and which ever I choose to shoot I pick up after myself.  I wouldn't dream of assuming that someone else should do it for me.

Note, I am new to this little hobby / sport and just commenting on new things as I see them, simple !

It's not a go at anyone in particular, merely an exclamation of surprise.

Wez, thirty years ago when I was trapping and scoring on clay shoots ( including Trap ) you would be lucky to see a bin of any description! part of your job for the day was to pick up the spent shells during and at the end of the day and put them in empty clay boxes or black sacks and that's just the way it was. However times have changed and now most shooters will use bins like I'm sure most of us do for all our normal everyday rubbish.Unfortunately though like you see the occasional idiot throwing their rubbish out of car windows etc. you'll also find some of these people on clay shoots...it's just the way they are, sad but true!

Kentskeet

You are absolutely correct there, bins on trap layouts is a fairly recent thing. As you say we used to just eject them and never gave a thought about it.
