I ordered one of these from Dave Izzard and duly received it 2 days later, £49 all in including postage. The theory behind the handed Surefit version is that the inner shoulder is shaped inwards and around 3mm thinner which according to RecoilSystems affords better shoulder purchase.

I hope the pictures are clear enough as I tried to show the pad before and after belt sander fitment which was done by my local cobblers for the outrageous sum of £2.50. I also did a quick video of the bounce test with the old Sorbothane as well as the Isis Green; the former actually looks to have less bounce truth be told   but only real life testing will tell, which I'm due to do with Roger Hoad on Thursday so will report back then.

Did the sander fitment thing come with it for that price? Or is that the pad from the terminator stock?

Image no.2 is how it comes, the metal attachment belongs to the PFS and is a kind of Jones adjuster.

Did it sand ok, I was going to get one and thought I might risk tearing the leather (I think its leather) off the back of the pad, I was gong to get a 14mm concave pad...

Always used Kickeez sporting pads but there is a buzz about these Green pads at the moment.

Look forward to your testing report.

Any chance of a picture fitted to the gun?

I always take Kicks off as I have always hated their bounce.

The new green pad is fantastic.....feels like I am shooting a 21grm cartridge.....just need to test on the 36grms in Madrid but think (if all goes well) it could be on sale in about 6 months time.

You can see the fitted pad on their website. They can be left green or you can change it black with the pen included in the pack.

They really are very very good.

I left it with the shop but seeing as he only asked for £2.50 it must have been easy? Dave Izzard reckoned they are easy on a belt sander but did say the black part isn't leather. I have had a few swings with it on and adjusted the length, if I'm honest I think the outer edge (oddly enough) will need fine tuning as it brushes my shoulder as I mount.

Wow!  Is that a gun stock or your artificial leg?

(Sorry, old git stuck in his ways and loves a bit of grain in my walnut!)

Seriously, what a piece of kit, it looks really efficient, bet it's like shooting a .410?

Does it change the balance since you swapped from wood? Or is that taken into consideration. (Daft question I know otherwise it wouldn't handle right, but it looks so light and minimalistic).

I think it more or less weights the same as the old Sorbothane I took off, part of the reason why I opted for the thicker version.

Sorry, I meant the stock as a whole.

Never seen one like it before, been out of clay shooting for several years just sticking to game so really out of touch.

And I live in Devon and it takes time for "modern things" to get down here!

when i tried one they were stock heavy

i didnt like the way that everything felt loose
Not sure which gun you tried but had one fitted to my beretta PFS that is and the weight is definitely not more then standard wood and you soon get used to the way it feels as for recoil reduction and ability to adjust for perfect fit it cannot be beaten although recoil never has been a problem being I am a strapping lad but you would have to be a real brute with balls to put 36g shells through it :fie:

Well I like slight butt bias anyway which is how this is set up, if you look carefully at the video you can see a straight short rod in the centre, if you remove this weight it would feel more front heavy.

PFS on a perazzi, only had to tape 10oz of lead to the barrels to balance it back out.

as for the wobblyness i see they have added a brace now to try and help it out a bit.
Blimey!!! you can remove the weight which as hamster stated makes them easily front heavy but your right about the brace now fitted :nyam:

Use a Belt Sander.  I have fitted 2 with my orbital sander and it 'Massages' the foam on the pad instead of taking it off.  I had to sand it in 'strokes' to achieve the same result, but a belt sander would have definitley done a much better job.

Yes belt sander is good....but not a worn one.

This subject 'green Isis pad' has been discussed many times on this forum and there is lots and lots of feedback from people who have fitted them....aand shot them. I have been advising people to use the green pad since it was first developed.....especially for youngsters and new shooters coming into the sport...you will not regret it.

As I said earlier, the pad is being developed all the time..and the new prototype is even better....it fits more to your actual body now with the new material...which is great for women and their collar bone areas. It gets better the more you shoot it, and reminds me of a memory flex pillow. Very very comfortable.

Roger, myself and a couple of friends had a good morning of fun shooting some very testing birds  :) , I was keen to have a few shots with both his Browning Ultra's, an XTR and  an XS sporter as well as trying out my new Green pad so I kept alternating between the three which also serves to show up if the recoil from one is particularly harsh. Well that wasn't the case at all and I can honestly say if I had to I could soon set up either and happily learn to shoot them OK and even with standard recoil pads both Brownings are very tolerable, not surprising really as they're both quite substantial guns.

The main purpose though of course was to see what the Isis was like, difficult to be too exact yet as one of the birds I have been having trouble with wasn't encountered on our round, that being fast going away/crossing pairs at huge distances. Lately I had felt I was getting too much bounce from the old worn Sorbothane and on occasion really felt lack of stability wasn't helping me for the second shots.

There is definitely a difference between the two pads but it isn't profound; in absolute terms I'd say the Green pad is a little better but then if you believe the American forums they reckon Sorbothanes have a certain life span and mine is probably past that point ! All told it is very good and I'd be happy to shoot this material even on a standard gun, in fact it's probably the fact that the PFS is itself so good at masking recoil that subtle ad-ons are less easily appreciated.

One thing worth mentioning is that even though I had done my best to re-set the gun to give a familiar length and sight picture, when I started to actually shoot I noticed that the gun felt lower in the comb once I was into the bird so to speak. Time and again to begin with the gun felt different when mounting into the shot, this strange feel slowly disappeared the more I shot the gun and it did not affect my scores at all. I would say it's almost certainly to do with the profile of the shoulder contact point; the old one is dead straight, the newer one Concave which is to say very slightly shallower in the middle. This may be altering the pitch I'm used to and whether or not I bother to dial it out by further adjustments will depend on how things progress in the next few weeks.
