Recently had the full system fitted (with my existing green pad put on the back) and would now not shoot without one.

The man is an absolute legend.

I believe that it's just the size of the pad in that the Evo Comp X-Pad is sized to match the Evo Comp butt plate already.

As Phil mentions, David Izzard (01763) 837140 would confirm if it doubt.

Close but not quite right . The screws are in different places.

Eg......it actually does not have a normal butt plate.

So to conclude my journey, I got to the stage where giving up clays was a distinct probability due to neck pain. I had a bit of a lay off and shot infrequently, then found a gun with low recoil (Krieghoff K80), and had an Isis2 and an X-Pad fitted to it. Last weekend I shot around 400 28g loads in practice and didn't and still don't feel pain......job done :).

To be honest Hamster, I couldn't tell much difference, although one thing I noticed was that I didn't need to bend my neck quite as much possibly?!

My gun without a pad at all only measures 13 and 3/4 inches LOP. I am 6'2", so making it an extra inch in length is probably only going to be in my favour anyway! And that's without seeing a gunsmith to double check!
i'm 6ft 4" and my LOP is 16 and 3/4 inches!! I think your gun may be a long way too short!

My hubby is 6'6"

LOP 15. 1/4

It all depends on what you shoot and how you address the target type that you are about to shoot.

FITASC sporting tend to be a bit shorter to help faster mount.

It is really up to the individual them self.

My Fitasc sporting gun stock was an inch shorter than my trap and 3/4 " shorter than my HELICE stock.

Now it is much easier to flick the switch if I want to with the Evo.

I think I am being affected by "Gun Porn"??

I want to see what that grip feels like and what it's like to shoot with a gun like that. This is so far removed from my "more traditional" stocks I am finding them fascinating.

I must pop up to see Denis some time!!

Thanks for the comment.

Since that post I have now purchased and shoot a CG Maxum with a LOP of 15". This feels very comfortable for me at the moment with the adjustable trigger at its "middle" setting and think any longer might feel a bit odd?!

Maybe I have shorter arms for my height which could account for something?

LOP, apart from preference, is only partially affected by height. 16 3/4" sounds crazy and I wonder if it looks long on Mike (compared to customary practice). It is affected so much by neck and arm dimensions, but also hugely with stance. If you shoot 'across' your chest the length goes right up.

Exactly...as I said it is all down to stance and how 'you' address 'your' targets.

I run my game gun at just under 15" including a 19mm Isis pad to soak up some 32 gram action! My clay gun runs at just over 15" including a 14mm Isis pad, I'm 6' ish, suits me just fine. And all bases covered.

Xpad fitted and sanded flush to the stock, will take it for a spin tomorrow :)
Did you have it sanded by sending it back to ISIS or did you do it yourself? Only reason I ask is I'm thinking of having exactly the same fitted to my MK38.

Hope you like it, please let us know how you get on.

Iggy.
