We have a jay pot, if nobody shoots one the pot just builds up and rolls over. come beaters day there was a substantial pot and one of the beaters not wanting to miss out shot a blackbird !!!

Allegedly, apparently that may have been the species involved in this incident, by all accounts...

It was the person in questions first outing and he had assumed anything driven toward him must be on the menu.
