Having spoke to the guys at Anglo italian arms today, the left handed models won't be around til mid march. Very helpful blokes there, so a thumbs up from me for there customer service

Action looks a little complicated and fiddly! Don't think I will be rushing out to buy one I'm afraid.

Did the Benelli make it over to Europe, and in more than 26" or 28" barrels?

Guy's ,

You have to realise that America is the centre of the Universe as far as sporting clays is concerned.

Richard Faulds, Ben Husthwaite, George Digweed, Cheryl Hall can learn so much from their U S superiors if only they would listen.

The Yanks are still smarting over Pearl Harbour and Browning U S will not import Miroku  ( unless they are branded Browning of course)

isn't the Benelli made in Europe then?
When the gun was launched at ShotShow, they said they were considering bringing it to Europe, but it was on sale there first. Probably made over here, but it seemed to be thoroughly marketed at US shooters.

Hmmmm - I'm not sure just what it is you're trying to say, but it does seem a bit irrational.  If I were an international gun manufacturer and had a new and maybe innovative product I think I might drop it into the world's largest buyers' market first to give it a bump.  Tho having it languish in some sodden backwater of a market might be another choice.

Not at all sure how four of the best shooters in the world came into this.

I would guess that the US in general has about as much affection for the Japs as the Brits have for the krauts.  And I haven't noticed anyone here, the US that is, sobbing over not having access to Miroku branded guns.  A sorta who GAF situation.

but that all could just be me

Is ok Wonko, no need to apologise for the ignorance of the average American...I actually quite like the German's, as 'Brits' we have more in common with them than most of us would like to admit!!!

Yes, America is the worlds largest sporting arms market, but American shotguns are awful!!!

Got a good look at the one in fmj again yesterday. Really feels nice in the sholder and moves well. For 1299 it really does seem like a bargain.

It has been my unfortunate experience that ignorance abounds and is unhampered by geographic location or language.  I suppose that it is possible to identify a "national character" and I can tell you will all sincerity that if that of the British (as I perceive it) had much in common with the krauts (as I perceive it) I would be massively disappointed.  I'm thankful that my character such as it is was shaped far more by my limey heritage than the kraut side.  That of course is not to say that Brits are fault free.  I have no defense for the US population either but I suspect that we are different only by scale factor and place pretty much the same on the ignorance scale.  I could refer you to several US shooting forums and point out that the ignorance level there is easily equatable with the ignorance on, say, this forum.

As to US made guns I can only say that few have attracted me as well.  There are a couple small establishment that do produce some fine work at not stupid prices.  Here is one - -   http://www.connecticutshotgun.com/

Even tho there is hype equal to ignorance everywhere, I am thankful to a degree that HPX is British.

love some of the names "Inverness special" makes me think of some regional varietion on a Glasgow kiss....and as for the "Christian hunter" i am at a loss..

I have to think that it would only be appropriate.

You have to appreciate that they are obviously catering to an anglophile/snob market for the most part.  I don't believe that you all have a realization of the level of delusion in that market in regards to the Brit gun myth.  It has OMG distant in the rear view mirror.
