Swingthrough can soon turn into spray and pray, which is great for very fast stuff but steadyer bigger distance crosers,i found holding out to near the kill point and either pull away or swing through but on swing through the muzzles were only a bit behind the clay, not a big slash or the lead sone gets out of control. maintained seemed to work on long slow loopers but this could be down to me knowing the targets to well and can make me shoot at a peice of sky expecting the clay to find the shot.

Ian, get your self a copy of Ben Husthwaites 2nd DVD ordered.

Swing through is missleading to me. I watch people who claim they swing through and it's a fast slash. It's inconsistent IMO, some days they score well, other days not so good. To shoot it well you need to keep control of the swing abd fir me I've had better results from allowing the clay to meet the gun at the hold point, travel with it and then a controlled pull away to the kill point.

Obviously it isn't the method for all targets but it's working for me.

I've a copy of Ben's DVD if you're interested OP?

It's a good guide of how to use each technique and where it's most appropriate.

I need to pay more attention.

I've noticed the huge fiber optic beads on some shotguns and the ones with two beads but not picked up on that some people don't use a bead at all.

I am unable to even tell you what the bead on the end of my Browning looks like,  BUT,  I have developed more and more a 'fast slash' since I became older. It is even worse in Winter too !
