PB at DTL Today

i know what you mean les, it has and still does drive me mad i mean how on earth do you miss any of them ? If you have an addictive or obsessive personality stay away from dtl as you will not be able to leave it alone until you have attained the perfect round. The 99-292 i shot the other week was not the best score i have ever done but probably the smoothest i have ever shot dtl, if ever there was a day when a 300 was for the taking that was it however in usual ips manner i bottled it. Thing is i think its come back to haunt me as i now want more

Careful Ian!!!!!!!  You will get the bug, then it's all down hill from there mate! I've seen grown men almost in tears having shot a 100/299, yes it can be THAT bad. Maybe it's because none of the birds are very hard to get, so in theory a competent shot should have no problem with any bird on a DTL layout, BUT stringing together 100 kills is not easy, and 100 first barrel kills is the stuff of nightmares. God only knows how the yanks get on, I mean ATA trap is a single barrel game, also the better you get, the further back you stand, all the way back to 27 yards! I really think that those guys must have special brains to able to deal with that sort of thing you know!

OK - I'm gonna try to not get all wound up about all the things that are wrong with ATA trap that have nothing to do with the shooting proper.

Most importantly you all should understand that the target settings are WAY softer than what you see at DTL.  If an ATA shooter of today was subjected to your targets he would likely refuse to shoot.  And from that stems all of the problems with ATA shooting.  BUT - that is not to say that the best shooters are not good shots.  It's just that the game sorta sux.

And I'll cop instantly to the simple fact that I don't kill 25/25 every time and never have.  I can be mediocre at any game and I have much more fun being mediocre at more difficult games    :haha:

Maddening wasnt it pal. The best dtl targets your ever going to get, well sat and sun anyway. I saw 300 then in a blink of an eye it became 99 - 292
