Shooters of any level sneering at people displaying badges or jackets from a lower level. A good bit of the "Pride in shooting for your County" comes away when you hear how people think that a county level achievement is nothing to show you're proud of. So I have to wait until I'm World champion do I? Okay then. Luckily the County skeet vest is so cheap it's only good for a couple of wears so I need to save it.

Don't care really. My Bun Club rosettes are much prettier than anything I've got from the CPSA and the latest one always lives on the fridge where I can see it every day :p

Funny how fashions change. It used to be that you could tell how accomplished a shooter was by how populated their "scare vest" was.

I went through a stage of displaying all the relevant badges, my name emblazoned across my vest, but now prefer to be "incognito". It takes the pressure to perform away and reduces the embarrassment of a bad day. I am still proud of my achievements though, and people that remember you for those, in my case, have long memories. :)

Can't say I hate much about shooting though. Plenty of room for all sorts no matter how strange some of them are to me.(And there are some weird ones out there!!) ;)

Totally agree liz.

TD

I remember those days, I ran out of room with all my pin badges from various English open etc shoots. I still have them but like you I now operate a covert campaign.

Yep just blend in and then when no one is looking wack a score in and come home with a title just like special ops 40up did at last week's zz thing :)

I don't think anyone sneers at shooters 'displaying' badges that are well won.

But county where anyone has won with one out of one ....or one out of 5.....regardless of whether it was a good score or a bad score...... Needs an element of reality check.

P.s. Good luck with the birth xx

Anytime....bring your wallet....and we will have a proper wager....offer always open.....it is so easy you see

I always imagined that displaying the CPSA badge would give comfort to grounds and shooters to know that you have insurance.  After a year though you might not have renewed though!

I borrowed a gun once for a sporting, which had a sticker on the butt "European Sporting Championships" whilst waiting to shoot I received some admiring looks, almost held in awe, until I shot the stand badly (well most stands badly) as I walked away looking down, I heard people saying "must be having a bad day!" And "Mmmmm" The power of the sticker is not to be underestimated!

For information: In ISSF and similar competitions in target shooting it is common to have to go through equipment control which is like scrutineering for racing and rally cars.  Equipment control issue stickers to be put on the relevant kit to show that it has been checked.  Therefore it is common for rifles and pistols to be covered in stickers which shows that they have participated and that at the time the gun passed equipment control.  Shooting Glasses, guns, jackets and gloves, boots and trousers are also checked for adherence to the rules in terms of thickness, stiffness, size of eye blinders on glasses, measurements, trigger weight, gun weight etc.

Stickers on guns are so that when you give your gun to the armoury....they give the right one back. They have a specific number that is only for you. It matches to the sticker on your gun case and your Ficha. Without it you cannot get your gun out to shoot.

They are certainly not for posing. You have the option of trying to remove them when home....or just sticking the next one on top.

Cor peeps ...stop worrying about stuff that does not matter to you....or poking at something you do not understand.

Doh......!

Invicta is in Kent near Tunbridge.

A1SG and Rugby are the 2 others.

Helice is not much fun in winter so if you want to try it then look to next year in the good weather.

Pet Hates......................PARROTS !
Westley.

Can you put a pic of yourself on here so I can pin it to his home, he can do to it what he does to the Pull mag.

He's not happy with you and asked me to put this on here.

He said ' who's a pretty boy' and he likes you.

New pet hate, "Lycraists" cycling in a swarm 5 or 6 abreast, blocking a country lane, impeding my progress to the local shoot, when I squeeze passed, being jeered at and shaking their heads! I of course gave the prescribed wave through the back window! (Hoping there wasn't a traffic jam 100yds up the road!) Now I have nothing against cyclist per se, if they want to wear pointy hats and wind resistant goggles, that makes them look like demented flies, cool, but don't slow me down! But to top it all they are covered in badges and stickers!
